I doubt SHUCKED performs since its closing in January. Harmony? Spamalot? Merrily?
A Beautiful Noise probably does something to promote Nick Fradiani taking over the role.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Nobody knows nor cares who this is or that he’s taking over the role. Is there a good chance the show is performing? Yes. But does this mean anything to anyone but 4 BroadwayWorld members? Absolutely not.

Nick actually has a large following outside of 4 BroadwayWorld members.
Also, I think it would be great to see "SHUCKED" perform. Their tour can be easily announced on air by the hosts. JMO
Nick Fradiani won American Idol. People know who he is.
Sure he wasn't on the show during its heyday, and he's not near as famous as people like Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson, but to act like no one knows who he is just isn't true.
I don't know if he has the kind of star-power that greatly moves box office numbers (in reality, he probably isn't), but I would wager that he's more well-known that most performers on Broadway.
And for those who haven't seen him in the role before, I highly recommend it. He is incredibly talented, and does a wonderful job in the role. And, as a bonus, he's very kind and gracious at the stage door.

I’m a diehard fan of the show, but I also realize its prospects of making it to the end of the year are looking grim.
If the stars align where the show stays open and Lea is willing and able to return in time after Old Friends closes in London, then it will be a Christmas miracle

HLL isn't really a Thanksgiving Parade show. They need to be doing more late night appearances.
If I were a betting man, I'd say we're getting Back to the Future, Harmony, & Juliet, Spamalot, Kimberly Akimbo (likely CBS), and MJ/How to Dance in Ohio (likely CBS). Merrily We Roll Along could also replace that last slot.

I don't think Kimberly is a good show to do a number from at the parade and Merrily doesn't need the publicity enough for the leads to perform on a holiday.
Can someone remind me the purpose of the CBS telecast? It seems so redundant.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

CBS is just direct competition with NBC who basically owned the parade coverage for years, CBS broadcasts from uptown and doesn't show any of the performances on 34th street in front of Macy's so they broadcast taped broadway performances instead.
