Taylor Louderman will be leaving Mean Girls on September 8th, 2019. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx4-sXhAYt3/
Does anyone know if they have a replacement lined up yet?

Yes they do. Look for an announcement on Tuesday.

Her voice is beautiful and she fits the part exactly, I'm sure that is the announcement. I like that they are starting to use people who actually look like they could be in high school (real teenagers) on Broadway.

2018 Jimmy Award Winner Renee Rapp is making her Broadway debut and taking over the role of Regina George when Taylor Louderman leaves in September. Rapp is also filling in for Louderman it when Louderman does Kinky Boots in June!

A powerful voice! Great choice.

I feel like more and more Broadway actors are being recruited through the Jimmy Awards, and I'm loving it.

She's an excellent choice but she's going to look super young next to all the adults play teens in the show.

I agree--she is very young looking. But maybe a wig and heavy Regina makeup will have an impact on that?

She doesn't look THAT young. Especially in person. When I first found out and didn't immediately connect that she was the girl from the Jimmys, I thought she was in her 20s. It won't be that off-putting.

I believe Kate Rockwell is 40. She looks great, but yes, next to a true teen-will look odd. Best of luck to everyone.

oops. Apologies. She's just been around awhile (search for Sandy days) . Didn't mean to assume.

I think I heard she’s assistant directing as well? And she’s from the area and seems to be excited to be being close to home for a bit. But these are just my guesses

Playing The Muny isn't exactly slumming. They spent the off season completely renovating their stage, including installing two turntables, five elevator lifts, multiple automation tracks, an entirely new lighting and sound system as well as a revamped orchestra pit. They will overhaul all the backstage areas after this season. The whole project costs around 100 million dollars.
This is the first regional production of "Kinky Boots" and I'm sure the idea of leaving "Mean Girls" to perform it for 11,000 people every night for a week in her home state was too good to pass up.

When we say people like Barrett and Erika have extended - do we know for how long?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Muny close to where Taylor grew up? She is a big family girl on her social media, I'm sure it's a nice opportunity to be closer to family and a hometown crowd.

I believe so, but am not like 100% sure.
Anyone seen Renee yet? How is she doing?

Saw the matinee on Saturday and seeing it with the original cast last year. The show has held up amazingly. Renee Rapp is a star. Her Regina was powerful. I can't wait to see what she does in the future. We had Becca Peterson on for Cady and Olivia Kauffmann on for Janis (both great!) Hope to make it back again next year and looking forward to seeing the tour cast!
