The vibe feels weird. The movie was always quirky and off-beat, and this feels very like..Dear Evan Hansen-y.

Just because they use a TV-like screen to show the Burn Book? Or do you mean the actual book/songs themselves (not sure if you were at the invited dress or not)?
If former, well... Dear Evan Hansen didn't invent screens/projections on stage. And to your point, Mean Girls' plot has a section similar to DEH where mid-2000 version of social media moves the story forward. I doubt they'd rip off the actual design of how DEH uses it, but there are bound to be comparisons. I don't think that lone picture alone is any indication of the actual vibe the stage production itself, lol.

Here's the Instagram geo-page for the National Theatre. Lots of posts going up from tonight's invited dress:

Doesn't look like there are any tracks in the floor. Is everything rolled on?

I think so. Casey Nicholas said something about “no automation, the actors move all the set pieces” in the recent Washington Post(?) article

I will be there tomorrow night for first preview. Looking so forward to to it!

Are the limited view seats for the DC run or Broadway run?

I applaud you for really giving this show a chance without having seen it.

Who said I was writing it off? I'm totally going to see it, just was hoping for a big lavish Legally Blonde type show, but instead it looks like we're getting Heathers. Just never been a fan of Casey's work. I don't think he has a good idea for stage pictures and design. And if there's another damn tap number...

For invited dresses, does the production usually tell audience members to keep quiet after the show? I'm shocked we haven't gotten any details or a snap of the song list ...

He has zero taste. Just look at the sets and costumes for Aladdin. Jeez.

Sorry- I should’ve mentioned these were for DC.

I actually kind of like that. No spoiling of surprises, knowing Jeff and Nell’s work there are sure to be some.
