Also: Does anyone know if they are holding tix for general sale? I don't have an AmEx, and Dec 10 is far enough away that I'm nervous about tickets."
Members can purchase up to 8 tickets. Unclear to me if that's per show or per production. Not sure about tickets being held back. It's selling really well (many performances only have singles left in the main orchestra). My membership already paid for itself just by buying 2 orchestra tickets to Streetcar given that members receive 20% off. Seats are clearly being held back for Amex preferred cardholders, they are marked on the seating chart. Not sure about regular Amex cardholders or the general public. Good luck!
With a membership, you get a 20% discount on tix, so the donation part is really reasonable. Was able to snag 2 Orchestra seats for a 100 bucks each. I still stayed under my budget all things considered. I did look at View from My Seat, and have to say, both the upper Orch as well as the balcony looked VERY far away. (But less expensive Tix were available -- in both those areas.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Looking to get tickets for later in the run. For those of you who have been to this theater would you recommend side upper orchestra row q (marked as full view) or first row of the balcony a little more centered. Thanks in advance!
I’ve never been to BAM (the one show I wanted to see over the pandemic never happened). If I was going to splurge, where should I sit? I’m planning to buy tickets today during the Amex presale….
I'd stay away from the balcony, the seats are faaaaaar away.

To be fair a lot of people aren’t familiar with that theater and could be pretty surprised with just how massive it seems inside, depending on where you’re sitting.
I was teasing a bit. I just meant that sticking with your preferences should be fine. I always prefer to be closer, especially if I’m seeing a play. Balconies always feel too far away for me in any theatre so I try to avoid them.
Yeah and the balcony here really is far away. Another thing to consider with this particular production is that is very very dark so if you’re eyesight isn’t the best then sitting closer (if you’re able to) is best.

All due respect, I spend a good amount of time deciding on seats based on others’ feedback and sites like A View from My Seat and SeatPlan so I can make sure I’m getting an acceptable view for an acceptable price. I’m personally never going to sit in a restricted view seat willingly, no matter how little I’m paying (I recently sold my £30 seat to Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Almeida after finding out it was behind a pole), so it helps to get that feedback from people.
For those who have seen it in London, is that platform on the stage elevated very high (to accommodate what I assume is a collection system for water)? Is all the action on the platform? Wondering if the first row is too low.

I'm not 100% confident, but if I recall correctly the platform was two steps up from the stage as I recall a cast member or two sitting on that step at times.
I had the page open around 11am so I was placed pretty early in the queue - 375 - but still waiting. There are 143 people in front of me. It says now the line is paused...
