I would say these dates are extremely firm."
Yeah I figured an extension was unlikely, thanks

That's what her artistry looks like, which of course is not for everyone.
That said, this production was programmed to showcase her vision, which I personally love. Can't wait for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof next year.
Is BAM considered off Broadway? Would the production be eligible for any awards? I wonder why they did not pick a Broadway house?

I think it’s pretty obvious. Broadway is hugely more expensive so they would have to commit to a much longer run. And I’d imagine Mescal doesn’t have the time to do that.

It depends on the awards and length of run. but generally anything in Brooklyn is not technically Off-Broadway.

Just for reference, tickets for the three weeks in London just went on sale:
Balcony £32.70
Grand Circle £56.70 & £80.70
Royal Circle £110.70, £176.70, £236.70
Stalls £80.70, £110.70, £176.70, £236.70
Outrageous!
Does Paul Mescal get a share of this turnover?
Otherwise why does he allow the producers to cash in on his name like this
Oh well, at least the peasants will be admitted to the worst seats in the house, up in the Gods, looking down from the clouds.

I'm sure Mescal will be paid handsomely. Regardless of whether he gets a cut of the box office - you do realize his salary STILL comes from ticket sales, yes?
BTW....welcome to America. We're trying out this new thing: Capitalism.

Since it's only playing in London for 3 weeks, I understand why these prices are so high.
Do you think this production will eventually transfer to Broadway? Hopefully BAM prices won't be as high but who knows.
They are the London prices, dramamama!
I thought they actually valued the arts over there.
Also, yeah, of course his salary comes from ticket sales. I just wonder what his percentage is.

They do. When this production was off-West End at the Almeida theatre two years ago, tickets were less than 50 pounds. I have friends who watched that production paying 10-20 pounds each. They even had some seats that cost 5 pounds for folks under 25 years of age.
Hm… so why the change in ethics?
Seems this show will be a “sellout" in more ways than one.
Although, on reflection, if the funds are diverted back to the Almeida, I guess that is a good thing. I believe they exist to nurture new talent?
Robin Hood. Steal from the rich to feed the poor.
I paid £300 to see this show, most I've ever paid for a ticket. I just really wanted to see the production, had no clue who Mescal was.
I really liked it but the cost was a huge oucher. I thought he was ok, but not worth that ticket price just because of him.

Yes, I'm aware - but I assumed the poster was insinuating that prices at BAM would be crazy expensive based on those. (and I don't doubt they will be.)
I love Mescal, I love Streetcar. I'm ok sitting where I can comfortable afford to.
Top ticket is $285. Could have been a lot worse.

Did you buy online? I'm having problems.
I did, I had to wait thirty minutes to get in but I got fantastic seats for the date I wanted. The 20% discount paid for the money I spent on a membership.
Good luck!!

Did you have to enter a promo code? I waited through the line and I can't move past a page asking for a promo code, which I assume is not my member number.
