My understanding is that the video was filmed at the King Theater on Flatbush in Brooklyn. Having seen photos of the Emerson Colonial they do resemble each other interiorly. Rehearsals just started April 27 so I don't know when they hit Boston to work at the Emerson before the June 27 start.
A better teaser would be Aaron walking around without a shirt on ... but I guess that goes wothout saying. BTW I like his hair and think it will work well for the role.

Thanks for this info! I'd just assumed it was the Emerson. Good to hear they have a similar look, though, becaise the theater in the video seems so well suited for the story.
I dig Aaron, like "I made an excuse to visit family in Portland with an excursion to Seattle to see Catch Me if You Can dig Aaron," but this is just cheesy. I'm not a big fan of the film, but his casting feels off to me. At least we have Tam Mutu.

And in literally everything he has done on stage. He will be amazing. Yes, this was a produced music video that has nothing to do with what you will see on stage, besides Aaron of course."
It is ridiculous to compare him to those people, especially MacDonald. He was good in NTN, but was positively wooden in Catch Me...My big concern with this is that, he may be handsome, but he has no charisma. Nada.

Aaron Tveit got pretty great reviews on the whole in "Company" this past summer -- charismatic seemed a prevalent popular descriptor. I'm a big time reader and you can check Playbill they have full reviews from 4 publications or you can use a search engine. NYT recommended it. WSJ reviewer felt AT and Ben Platt in "Dear Evan Hansen" were the best male musical performances he had seen the past year plus. In London Tveit's 2014-2015 Booth in "Assassins" got excellent reviews across the board. In fact a recent BW Message thread discussed the London production and someone who had seen it called it the best "Assassins" they had seen. I think they called the Jamie Lloyd direction wondrous or wonderful or something in those terms. Jamie Parker of Harry Potter Play fame was in that production (and now winner of an Olivier for HP plus a Tony nom for that role) and got similar terrific reviews as Tveit in Assassins.
Jarethan has a right to his opinion but please don't leave out AT's most recent stage work. (I am not including Grease Live! -- that's a different animal--with the heavy burden of John Travolta who had practiced the Danny Zuko acting type role (Vinnie Barbarino -- clips are on YouTube) for 2 1/2 yrs on "Welcome Back Kotter" prior to the movie. Plus he was in the 1st national tour of Grease plus on Broadway--both as Doody)
I didn't see AT's latest performances but most reviewers that did found him very good and his song interpretations were especially extolled.

Who the hell is Macdonald? Huh? Aaron is brilliant on stage, just like Audra MCDONALD, Norm Lewis and Jeremy Jordan. Anyone who has seen him live knows this. It's why he's always had wonderful reviews for his stage work all the way back to rent.
No seriously though, what's a MACDONALD? Because if you think Audra's so amazing and above Aaron, it helps to know her name.
He has been doing some tv, so it depends on if he gets a series or not in the time it takes to get the show to bway. I don't see why this wouldn't come in this season if a theater is open. In terms of movie to stage musical it's at least a musical already and its 100% commercial. They shouldn't go cheap on this one. Either it needs an original theatrical conceit that is exciting or it needs to be spectacle.
Aaron is ok for the role, but he wouldn't even be in my top five broadway leading men choices. He is like a theatrical unich, he's pretty and has a high tenor tone, but there are no deeper qualities there. He doesn't bring real sex appeal, or drama, or musicality. He isn't exciting to watch in the least. He doesn't bare his soul on stage at all when he performs. In my opinion he's been forced down our throats by superficial casting directors raised on American Idol who don't really know what talent is.

Very excited by this. I'm hoping I might actually be able to grab a ticket with the extension. Though I'm surprised there isn't a discount code of any kind yet, aside from (I assume) the Colonial's traditional student rush.
Yikes...good that no one was hurt, nor was the set damaged. I have tix for the 19 of July, so I'm likely "fine", but there will be disappointed people.

Looks like they've pulled all tickets for 6/27-7/5 and have the first performance with availability as 7/7. Don't think those were previously sold out, so that would be my guess as to what is being canceled.
I was able to "select" a seat on one of those days....but it might be in error. It does seem odd that those are the only dates showing as sold out.

What happens in cases like this? Do they try to find other tickets for the affected audience or are we SOL?"
I've got a ticket for the 5th, and flying over from Europe for it.
I guess we're going to be contacted by box office when the producers reach a decision, and will be given an option of refund/moving tickets to a later date.

After not hearing an update, I called the theater today.
They confirmed that the only performances in question are 6/27-7/5. Their box office opens on Monday 6/18, and the woman I spoke with expects there to be news by then.
I'm hoping all performances go on as planned (I have tickets that first weekend), but obviously safety is the number one priority.
I called the theater yesterday as well. I was told that if you have tickets for the affected performances, you should call the theater and add your name and contact method (phone or email) to their list. They will notify you when they know something. The guy said that not everyone gave an email (like if you are doing will call) so calling them will definitely expedite notification.
He also said that he doesn't know what they plan to do in terms of affected performances- as in, will they try to accommodate people for future performances or what. I can't imagine they won't, but he wasn't saying anything.
