Anyone is allowed to come on this board and say what they want, when they want, period. If there wasn't so much policing maybe it would feel like a community."
This is exactly the culture that Kad has created on here that many of us have been speaking out against for a very long time. And yet his enablers give him back up every time, further emboldening him to target and suppress certain posters he disapproves of, and make them out to be “trolls.” Why do you think this board has been dead these past couple months? It’s way past due he’s getting a slap down

I never attacked you. I am saying that the response you got- and it was unfair- was because of several factors, particularly when the board has been plagued with trolls creating scores of new accounts in recent years. You clearly do have information, but you get upset when you are not immediately believed even if there is decent reason for folks to be incredulous.
Jesus Christ, get back to the topic of this thread or shut up. Enough already.
Anyway!
I hope another show is in the cards. One last minute addition to the season would at least add some seasoning to a pretty bland year.

Only caveats are Coon has Gilded Age to film and Smallwood is scheduled for a play at Steppenwolf that begins in April. If Coon can somehow work out a 6 performance week schedule and if they get someone like Michael Shannon to step in for Smallwood, then I can absolutely see this happening."
I would be shocked if it is Bug, for several reasons:
I have been wrong before, so I may be again. I just don't see it.

Galileo is the musical here in the Fall.
wanted to come in the spring but Hells Kitchen told them they were staying open
I don't know what they will bring in, but I think everyone agrees they won't allow it to sit empty come Spring, yes?

I’m really hopeful for The Heart to swoop in. I liked Bug and it makes sense, but I don’t like the idea.

It’s their signature theater, of course it’s going to booked for the spring. Ensemble1711444445 said a limited run from the uk is coming in, so unless he wants to tell us what it is, we can speculate. Is it All My Sons?
They wouldn't kick out HK if there wasn't something coming in. HK wasn't doing poorly and Feb is a random time to close the show.
It would be fast, but the revamped & sold out Goold American Psycho ends mid March across the pond. Broadway before West End? Either way, the UK production ends up here, Broadway or similar in NYC.
The Lloyd Much Ado revival could be a nice add to the season if schedules permit.

There is no way American Psycho will do that. Look how well the original run went in New York.

I don’t really understand why HK is closing but &Juliet continues to run?

Much Ado is going into the Winter Garden after Death of a Salesman.
I guess a 50th Anniversary Revival of A Chorus Line is not in the cards.
No, not the one-night concert that many didn't get to see - an actual production.
Either is a 51st anniversary, or even a 52nd anniversary...................... ![]()

&Juliet has already recouped.

PYSCHO is coming in - it's when. Since it's initial run it has a legion of old and new fans. May not be Broadway but it will sell well when it does on Broadway or similar venue in NYC....

I really enjoyed what they did creatively with the show. However, then and now, I worry that a show about rich white men sexually abusing and murdering women for sport is not necessarily a good look.

Ensemble1711, can you tell us what’s coming into the Shubert?
This thread is a messssssss.
I will personally attest to the fact that I was not a believer of Ensemble1711 for the same reason Kad cited - the generic username created relatively recently (compared to most of us old guard who’ve been here since dial-up and DSL) at a time where there is a particular user who continues to regenerate with different usernames, creating inane threads and making comments that are meant to inflame as oppose to contribute to the conversation. For that and any offense, I apologize to Ensemble1711 since I also can relate to posting insider information to disbelieving masses, but have withheld quite a bit because of it.
Going back (kinda) to the topic at hand, Hell’s Kitchen is a MUCH harder show to run than simply finances. It’s a show that requires a very high caliber performer who can sing complicated R&B/Gospel/Hip Hop infused songs, while executing very complicated choreography and spending a good chunk of the show running up and down stairs and scaffolding. As a result, the performers have been pushed to their limits and there has been quite a bit of turnover and use of emergency swings to cover injuries for extended periods. It is also an extremely hard show to star/stunt cast because even the more stationary roles (Davis, Miss Liza Jane) require vocal stamina that not many performers have.

I'm guessing whatever is going in there will officially announce and try to sell tickets? They wouldn't secretly open a show and not let anyone buy tickets would they? So even if someone doesn't tell us here what advance info they might have, it will eventually be made public, right?
