That VOICE. And flashback to Simon Cowell trying to take a diss at her talent on the X Factor years back and her launching right into I Will Always Love You full voice.
She seems to have adjusted her performance a bit, leaning in more to a traditional take on Norma’s singing of that song which really, I don’t mind at all. Seeing her and Rachel this coming week so I’m really curious to see how Nicole has grown/changed since the first few previews I saw.
She sounds amazing. Kinda giving me Linda Eder vibes"
Never knew much about her tbh, but watched MickeyJoTheater's review on YouTube and was so curious because he mentioned her sounding like a combination of Streisand and Eder (one of my favorites). Love her sound. The production sounds fascinating. The curtain call kind of says it all.
Found an audio of Tom Francis singing the title track. Beautiful voice!
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

Saw the show with Nicole last week and was blown away. Please post your thoughts on Rachel as I'm super curious how she compares.
There is no doubt in mind now that if Nicole wants to do this show on Broadway, it will be on Broadway. And when it is, she will be almost a guaranteed lock for the Tony. I truly felt watching the show and Nicole again that I was experiencing musical theatre history. Her voice is absolutely extraordinary - among the 'best ever' in musical theatre and she really can act while singing in both the most delicate and extreme moments. I can't believe I was skeptical about this production and her casting lol.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Could not agree more. I went in so unsure of her abilities and wow was I wrong. It also worked in a meta way which I didn't expect. Nicole's own story of being passed over really fits the show's plot like a glove.
God, I so want this to transfer in the Spring! Still wondering if this will occupy the Shubert after Some Like it Hot closes.

I was thrilled by this production. I can’t imagine it wont transfer. When is The Majestic due to be available? It would be a great fit for many reasons .
^ Word here is (and I’ve also been told) “Betty Boop” or “Hells Kitchen” (depending on who i speak to) will take the Shubert, as of now. Grace was just announced as going into “Hadestown” in London so that puts an end to any talk of all 4 UK leads coming over here with a potential transfer this Spring.
Ohio has had exactly one preview. We'll see what the first batch of grosses point towards, but can't imagine they can pull off a transfer if they learn of venue availability in (the absolute worst-case scenario for Ohio, a la KPOP) December.
I also wonder how much weight will go into deciding on a theater based on the logistics of the opening of the second act? As if they have a lot of choices in the time frame? I'm so curious if this jumps right away or if this will wait for a transfer for the Fall, so it won't compete this season against Cabaret and Merrily (and others) for revival - but will it lose some of it's steam if it waits almost a year? It's thrilling when producers take a risk and roll the dice on an unconventional idea and pretty much strike gold theatrically... even tho it's not everyone's cup of tea! :)

I kind of assumed next Fall/more likely a February 2025 opening would be more likely. Let the West End production bask in this well-received run, hopefully do well in their award season / Oliviers - and then announce a Broadway transfer like the 2017 run with it opening in Feb - extend through the end of June so it is running for Tony season/closing after the awards (or perhaps extend with a new cast...)
I think the producers of CABARET are going to find they waited too long to transfer the show to Broadway. Buzz has gone cold. To that end, I think they would be wise to get SUNSET to Broadway this spring. It will loose momentum waiting a year.
“I knew who I was this morning, but I've changed a few times since then.”
I agree a spring transfer would be wise for this production. I am still betting on it transferring to the Shubert. Does anyone hear otherwise by any chance?
