Wow! How long will they be in the show for?
Norm Lewis? Sign me up! I was looking for an excuse to see this again!
My, people leave shows so quickly these days...
And that's how you do replacement casting during the dead-of-winter months.
Contractual leave? Does this mean they'll come back at some point?
No, love, it means they are trying what they can to stay open.
GAH! I WISH I COULD SEE THIS!
What they should do is bring in Jordan Fisher. Merle for me was the highlight of the show, so it's unfortunate.
Dandridge's exit makes sense because of Greenleaf. The Darrington exist seems odd.

They actors in the show have all decided to leave - one more dancer has sliced his foot on the stage. all of the current dressers, what little they have, are moving to Frozen. Do Lewis and Gray know they will have to dress themselves? management is so cheap they are even trying to have the actors out on the wigs themselves and they actors are rebelling about the continuing up and down the stairs to make changes and the wigs are falling apart due to the sand and water and there are no replacements being ordered or costumes as well.

Any sources on any of that information you'd be willing to share with us?
Funny how Cynthia isn’t commenting on this... lol.
Do Lewis and Gray know they will have to dress themselves?
Well that's not true. IA wouldn't allow it.
Interesting that people assume this is solely a ticket sales move. I know Norm Lewis is a more recognizable name among the theatre community than Darrington, but he is far from a bankable box office name. If it were Taye Diggs or even Ben Vereen, sure I'd say they definitely asked Darrington to step out, much like the Comet situation. But seeing as it's Norm Lewis, I'm more inclined to take then at their word that Darrington has another contractual obligation, and Lewis is just stepping in to fill the gap.
Wonder if they'll update the Playbill, or just do inserts for these two? Is this going to be a long stint e show?

Are Dandridge and Darrington returning to the show or are they leaning for good on 1/7?

If the working conditions are poor then they should contact their union rep, not post about it on a message board.
Whaaaaaat? This has to be a sales grab; why would they have even hired these two actors if they had to agree to contractual leaves THIS early into the run?
Yikes, I didn't think they were doing THAT poorly...but I don't see how either of these names will help that much. (as much as I love Lewis)
I can't imagine either of these are considered "stunt casting" to boost ticket sales. Don't get me wrong, they're great casting - they both have insane voices and honestly I'm interested in seeing the show now, but I don't think the tourist crowd would much care.
I was hoping to see this again. Lewis got me sold! Does he do stage door after the afternoon shows?

On a Ken Davenport produced show! Never!
