Yes, very aware of the supply. MHE is getting 'overhype' buzz now from new attendees, due to online and word of mouth overhype, pushy reditors among them. MHE's narrative has become stale with several new small 'under dog' shows out there now, each in their own way (OM, BVSC, DO etc). MHE is now another show in this fray.
Mincemeat is the underdog of the moment, come stateside to the musical "American first" critics. And yes, it's impressive that Mincemeat has come in with a fantastic average ticket price, even with the early "gold ticket" ticket discounts in the mix, despite its packed smaller (if we must compare) house. MHE has had nice momentum but the it now shares it will a lot of other shows on their upward trajectories. Dead Outlaw looks to gain traction on Broadway as the newest underdog reviewed in a few weeks. Audience are now looking to the new collection of spring show underdogs. The tide is changing. It's a nice season with and underdog story of ones choice. With many in the mix could Death Becomes Her squeak out a win?

I would vote for Mincemeat over MHE but I’d easily say MHE is the front runner.
It’s a fantastic narrative of rumored work stop order to for all intents and purposes a healthy run and it’d be a worthy winner.
My hope is that there’s some splitting because it’s been a very good season so far.
MHE was the frontrunner. Now, with "new musical" competition in the mix that has changed. The splitting has commenced.

CoffeeBreak had it in for Maybe Happy Ending before it opened. They're involved with Mincemeat somehow - my guess is a low level investor; either that or a spurned love interest of someone on the MHE team (ex-sugar daddy? did the bank roll dry up & they dumped you?) - and have taken it upon themselves to run a one person PR campaign against MHE.

But at least they're proving they can be as aggressively annoying in favor of a show as they are against one. Consistency!
If there's any overhype happening, it's of Mincemeat, which, far from being an underdog, came in with a lot of support and a ton of prestige, and we are seeing in the response the backlash to it (not to the extent of, say, Cabaret, but an echo). I don't know why you're so committed to these alternative facts, CoffeeBreak, and I do think your extremely committed boosterism of Mincemeat does suggest you have some personal interest in it.
It’s interesting how over the years, many of us have become pros at deciphering trolls and who works for a show. You’d think by now, that they’d know they have to do better and find new ways of posting to at least TRY to throw us off the scent of their agenda.

I thought they had something to do with the company that supplies the merch for each show as they always post that. :)
A show coming in that won the Olivier for Best Musical does not make it an underdog. But they will continue with that narrative.

I also think we (as a group) have become great at knowing which posters have changed their names along the way. :) Unless those are the "trolls" you are referring to?
No actually (in that post, at least) I was referring to people who or shill - maybe that was the better word to use - for or against certain shows. “Boop”, anyone?

The Boop became tiresome after the first couple of posts but then the incessant posting brought it to a whole different level.

That's an interesting guess. I just looked, and MHE is using a different company from almost every other show to sell their merch.
Maybe I've been watching too much Elsbeth, but that sounds like a motive to continually badmouth a show. I guess we'll have to wait & see if anyone has an untimely accident.

‘Operation Mincemeat’ Broadway Review: This British Import Works Way Too Hard to Be Fun
Nothing kills a laugh faster than seeing actors sweat

It's a five person, full length musical. You think they'll be in lounge chairs and PJ's for two and a half hours? It's work. I don't know what you were expecting.
Now extended through February 15, 2026. Presale opens on Thursday.

Hofler's review isn't very good, but the point is that being able to "see the sweat" (i.e., the effort) is a quick way to deflate comedy because it comes across as forced and desperate.

Wow. No longer going with that short-extensions strategy anymore. I wonder what changed their minds?

It's a show of confidence in the wake of good-but-not-rave reviews they expected. Now no one can question it's longevity or it's strength on the street. (Though, of course, it could simply close anytime. But the general public don't know that.)
It's selling extremely well. If it grabs the Best Musical Tony, it'll be a hot ticket for awhile.

Perhaps, but it's worth remembering that Gutenberg! The Musical only had two actors in a whole musical comedy and people still went nuts over it.
The reviewer feels the comedy is too obviously effortful and forced. It has nothing to do with how many people are doing the work or if they're actually perspiring while doing it.
Kad is 100% correct.
But that being said, I didn't "see them sweat" at all.
