Peter Pan Goes Wrong, the sequel to the international hit The Play That Goes Wrong, will open on Broadway this spring at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Performances are set to begin March 17, with opening night scheduled for April 19.
Co-written by Mischief Theatre artistic directors and Goes Wrong series creators Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, the comedy finds the Cornley Drama Society back at it, this time attempting to present J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan amid technical glitches, flying mishaps, and cast disputes.
The production will star original Play That Goes Wrong cast members Lewis, Sayer, Shields, Charlie Russell, Greg Tannahill, and Nancy Zamit, with Chris Leask and Ellie Morris rounding out the company.

Out of left field, but id be lying if I said I wasn't interested!

I know I'm in the minority, but I loathed The Play That Goes Wrong. Granted, I'm not really a fan of slapstick humor. I will be skipping this one.
I don't know; can it BE better than this?
This is out of left field, but considering that The Play that Goes Wrong has been a sleeper hit for years now and is one of the few Off-Bway shows to survive the pandemic reopening, and the countless times I've watched the BBC broadcast version, I am really excited for this!

I am assuming the BBC version is not the exact same as the stage version, but that is basically how the show ends...

Oh my gosh, what a fun and exciting announcement! I adored The Play That Goes Wrong all those years ago and am thrilled to see the team bring another property to Broadway. Broad physical comedy is such an underappreciated art form, and I think Broadway should always have some silly slapstick show running.
This just got added to my list of shows for the Spring.
This announcement made me pee with excitement. I’m sure they’re going to make it longer since the original version that was filmed and on YouTube here -

is only an hour long. But it’s also one of the funniest things ever.

More farces and genre-y stuff (like The Mousetrap transferring) could be just what Broadway needs.

I'd pay for a TikTok mashup of Peter Pan Goes Wrong and Bad Cinderella.
Saw it in London years ago and had a great time! Very similar to its sister show.

You are not. It's one gag that goes on forever.

I despised Play That Goes Wrong. I didn't laugh once. To each their own. I'll give this a shot though. The familiarity of Peter Pan may allow for some more laughs.
Took a student group of nearly 30 to see The Play That Goes Wrong just months after it opened and we watched the Peter Pan special as “pre-show research”. They were the perfect audience for this and they got to meet the cast afterwards… the cast LOVED their energy and enthusiasm. 😂
ArtsClub in Vancouver did this production late last year. We caught it. It was fabulous, hilarious, insanity.
go see it.

looking forward to this - Always appreciate the full on physical comedy and great timing of these actors. Saw Play that goes Wrong and Bank Robbery that goes Wrong - on the West End and loved both! I just need some good old fashioned theatrical fun right now... well in the Spring at least! I think they also do a show about the Nativity that goes Wrong as well - I could be wrong.?

Yup. They have both The Nativity Goes Wrong and A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong.

I hated it too. To add insult to injury, it was part of my subscription series in Sarasota, and my wife liked it originally, so I said 'what the hell'. The second time was just as torturous as the first.
This show will not be appearing on my Spring list.
If you’re a fan of this hysterical theatre company I strongly suggest you check out their “Goes Wrong Show” - currently streaming free on the Roku Channel. We’ve been re-watching it over the last week and continue to be amazed by how clever and well-performed they are. Very happy to see today’s announcement!

The BBC broadcast cut down the original show a bit, so yes, this should definitely run longer.
Its a very exciting announcement, although I’m a bit worried that I haven’t seen Dave Hearn listed with the rest of the returning cast. He’s one of the best actors in this ensemble, I sure hope he’s not sitting this one out.

Seems the wrong house for it. Always felt like the Mezz there felt so far away. I saw the original from the mezz at the lycyeum and that felt cozy. Good luck to them!

I can’t believe anyone finds this stuff funny.
Absolute witless nonsense. Its success baffles me. It’s like bad student theatre, but less funny.
Agreed. I left "TPTGW" at intermission. Hated it. You have to suspend believe and convince yourself that every actor in the play is a complete moron.
