For those of us who purchased these tickets back in Fall of 2019 and have hung in with the terrible Hudson Theater customer service throughout Covid, I think we got a bargain.
The Hudson is the biggest ripoff on Broadway and has the worst customer service to boot. Everything I have seen there has been ridiculously overpriced beyond belief (unless it was on TDF), and most of the shows I have seen there have been painfully average.
Full cast and extension until June 26th announced:

This is one of my most anticipated shows for the spring.

Fax.
...Not to be snarky, but I think I'd prefer to see Michael McGrath and Erin Dilly (MB & SJP's standbys).

I hope they get to go on together. I'd be there in a second.

Almost two years to the day from when I saw this try out in Boston. I wasn't overwhelmed, but it was perfectly pleasant, and I'm glad they're able to remount this production and bring it to Broadway at long last. I know there have been a lot of folks looking forward to it!
Ah, once again I almost confused Michael and Matt McGrath.

Ditto.
Those prices are ridiculous, but on the other hand, look at how little inventory they have left. Just goes to shows a starry duo, plus being one of the few if only actual comedies on Broadway, is the draw they hoped it would be.
Though I do laugh at how all the seats, on top of the prices, offer an upgrade to Ambassador Lounge. It's not really exclusive if the whole theatre has access to it.

A comedy geared towards older white folks is the least revolutionary thing on Broadway, and yet it's a rarity in this season. This could be one of the few plays to turn a profit this year.
This is also a unique case where the star is actually MORE valuable at the box office now than in 2020 (because of And Just Like That). The timing couldn't be more perfect.
I agree, this will make mega bank.

I wonder if the extension means that And Just Like That has been cancelled. All of the show social media posts last week said finale instead of season finale. I'll be curious to see if this extends again.
This will only extend to June 26, presumably because SJP and MB spend summers in Hamptons. And Just Like That’s renewal has yet to be announced and like SATC, they can reduce the number of episodes needed based on cast availability. HBO will accommodate anything that SJP & MPK want.

Agree with everyone about the timing. How lucky are these producers? lol
I hope And Just Like That doesn’t get renewed. Leave it just where it is. And that’s coming from someone who liked it.
Unless I get an invite or something, I’m not running to see this. It’s weird, but I’m not a huge fan of SJP playing characters outside of Carrie. It’s very jarring to me. Hocus Pocus is the only exception, and I guess that’s because she did it before SATC.

The show has every intention of being renewed, it's one of HBO Max's biggest and buzziest hits. They've alluded to working with everyone's schedules to see if it works, but I'm sure HBO is willing to wait if they have to. Who knew of all people, it would be Sarah Jessica Parker winning 2022?
"Extensions" for limited run plays with stars are typically built into the contract already. To use dummy numbers, it's better to announce 15 weeks then add 5 more if there's demand, instead of announcing 20 weeks then closing early.
Will the producers really close this end of June if it is making money? Is summering in the Hamptons really more important to the two stars? If it is, or they're otherwise occupied, might producers try to bring in other "names?"
I REALLY want to see this but these prices are pre pandemic insanity. $599 for Orchesta Seats? Sorry. Those days are over.

If nothing is planned for the Hudson after this, i can definitely see them looking for two "names" to keep it going through the summer.

Rep stated last week that HBO Max wants a Season 2 for AND JUST LIKE THAT. They’re waiting for Michael Patrick King and Sarah Jessica Parker to green light it. I do know everyone who worked crew/production is on standby and sets are stored and weren’t striked after wrapping Season 1.
Yeah I'm sure it's coming back for Season 2. I didn't watch it, but feel like I could tell you every plot point given all the social media posts. It's not like they can just rush into production. Have to write the scripts, plan it out, etc. I would imagine they shoot in the fall.
Sounds like this is a big ol' hit already. Congrats.
Sarah and Matthew don't need to do this at all, they are doing it for their many fans. And for those complaining about prices? This really isn't your show. They have many, many wealthy friends and fans who will gladly pay those prices. I doubt they will extend, they want to spend their Summers in the Hamptons/ Ireland as usual with their two daughters.

I can understand Sarah having fans, but Matthew? <<deleted by mods>> Every performance is the same.
I agree he’s a pretty crummy actor, but he has a sweet charisma. He plays everything the same and his energy wanes from night to night in a show. At this point in his life he’s definitely riding on her coat tails. I don’t think she’s a particularly good actress either, but she is an icon thanks to SATC and synonymous with NYC. She is dazzling but that is more about her personality than her acting prowess. The pair of them are creating a buzz worthy NYC stage experience. Rich old white people will froth at the mouth for this. Middle class ladies will max out their credit cards to see Carrie Bradshaw on stage while wearing her cheaply made and horribly uncomfortable shoes. They will go for Cosmos before and think they are the bees knees.
