"I wish there were some sort of un-enforceable rule stating that the voter must be familiar with both shows."
I don't. Some of the early rounds might only get one vote. We are going for favorite musical of this 90's, not best. Favorite includes those shows that people don't know about, and their lack of knowledge.

With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
"Not Barker, Todd is the only person I've ever known who could imitate Katherine Hepburn...in print." -nmartin-
Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).
this is bigger than duke vs north carolina in the sweet 16. Both shows are beautiful in their own right, but i say Ragtime.
<------ Me and my friends with patti Lupone at my friends afterparty for her concert with audra mcdonald during the summer of 2007.
"I am sorry but it is an unjust world and virtue is only triumphant in theatricle performances" The Mikado
(and yeah, Duke sucks. My whole bracket is over because I had them going all the way. Stupid, I know...but they've always been my team)

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Gotta call it for RAGTIME, which, though occasionally dull or preachy, was professional, solid, and smart; unlike RENT, which was the sound of somebody throwing a whole lot of **** at the wall and hoping something would stick. RAGTIME it is.
