If you attended any of the final weekend performances of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, please feel free to share your thoughts, experience and photos here.
Jenna Russell is the sweetest person at the stage door. I didn't see the show tonight (I had Top Girls at 2pm and Curtains at 8pm), but she didn't come out when I saw the show last week so I went back tonight. I really wish I could go to the last performance but I have errands to run.
One of the best productions I have seen. It will be missed.
I'M so sad it's closing. Everyone in the show is outstanding. Daniel Evans is adorable, and Jenna Russell is positively illuminating. I was stunned the other day when my six-year-old son asked, "Can we listen to Sunday in the Park with George when we're in the car?" It made such an impression on him. (Forgive the pun.)
Most beautiful, moving, heartbreaking musical I saw on Broadway this season. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I'm in process of getting ready to go today. I will post details (admittedly they won't be unbiased because I love this show and I already know "Move On" will hit me HARD today because of a lot of stuff going on with me right now) and hopefully a pic of two (depending on how much of a mess I am) when I get home.

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
I saw the show last night for the second time, and was absolutely blown away, again. It is truly the most beautiful show I have ever seen. We Do Not Belong Together, Sunday, and Move On were particularly moving last night. I was shaking in my seat. Daniel and Jenna are just brilliant. I'm so sad it's closing. If Curtains weren't closing today as well, I would love to be there.
PS- Hi Eugene!
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
I'm so sad that this is closing. I count myself as being very lucky to have been able to experience this production. It was truly one of my most prized theater experiences.
Now, mother always said that whenever you hear a strange, frightening, and potentially life-threatening ghostly chant coming from the dark woods that there's one thing that you should do: Not wake the others and go investigate it alone...
I went yesterday. I don't really like closings, so it was great to go last night and still be in an extremely loving, appreciative audience. The house was packed, and you could tell most of the people there knew and loved the show, had likely seen this production before, and were there to say goodbye. The first time I saw it, the audience was very... typical Saturday matinee, so I really loved the response last night. There's nothing like the warmth and enthusiasm of a loving Sondheim audience.
I'm so glad I got to see it again. The first time was a bit emotionally overwhelming for me for a lot of reasons -- the show hits close to home in many ways. But this time I was able to just enjoy its beauty. I could gush on and on, but it would all be cliché -- I'm rarely rendered speechless, but last night, the immediate reaction was actually not to say much of anything at all. I can't find the right specific words for what I think of this production. I love it so much. I couldn't stop thinking about it after the first time, and I can't now. Daniel and Jenna gave two of the best performances I've ever seen, and I hope to have them back on Broadway some day. I wish it could have stayed around longer.
I didn't see the show, but yesterdsay afternoon I bumped into Daniel. We spoke for a bit, and it was really great to be able to say one last time how much I appreciated this show.

My heart is absolutely BREAKING that this is closing. I can't gush enough about how amazing this show is. I know that anyone that has seen it just knows that there is no way possible to have a more genuine cast. The entire company put their all into every performance, and it shows. I cried during the performance more than twice, and was pretty much speechless after. It's been my fave show for a while now, and seeing this revival made the love grow. I luckily got to meet Jenna Russell at the stage door and she was just the sweetest. I wish the best to all the cast members and hope, with all my fingers crossed, they'll be on Broadway for a very long time with the same enthusiasm, care and talent.

Oh my god, this show has everything! Half naked guys and girl on girl action! - [title of show]
(My avatar? Why, yes! That is Laura Benanti making out with a chick!)
I got to see this show 3 times and each time I feel in love love with it. I wish I could have went anytime this weekend. It was an amazing production with an amazing cast and one that I will always remember
"Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life. Define yourself"
Saw it for the second time on Wednesday, and cried even more than the first time. This cast is an amazing group of performers, and I wish them all well, tonight and in their future work! Hugs and kisses to all -
Saw it for the first time on Wednesday, and I so wish I could have seen it more. It was a sincere and touching piece, and my favorite show I have ever seen on broadway!!!!
"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise
I'm so happy that other people feel the same way about this production. I'll be 300 miles away when the performance ends, but I still have the feeling I'm going to cry, especially if I listen to the cast recording.
I chose, and my world was shaken. So what?
The choice may have been mistaken. The choosing was not.
I saw this for my second and final time last night.
I have very few words.
The audience was so receptive. It was such a joy to be surrounded by a full house of people who wanted to be there and were absorbing every ounce of the beauty being set forth by the performers on the stage.
The cast was so friendly at the stage door. Jenna Russell was just taking all the time in the world chatting it up with every person. She is such a sweetheart. And Daniel Evans -- I have no words for him.
This was hands down the most affecting production of the season. I am so sad to see it go, and I can't imagine another revival of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE ever matching the glory of this production. I consider myself blessed to have seen it twice.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

This was an amazing show. However, it may have been the worst AUDIENCE with cellphones. Someone continued with a conversation for a while in the second act.
But not to rain on our Sunday parade!!! I am in love with the show, and it is my FAVORITE!! I too feel blessed to even have seen it once!

I need to see it again! Please let Jenna and Daniel be on tour! I will go to another city just to see them. I saw them yesterday and it was incredible!
