"Mr. Jackman will not be appearing in THE MUSIC MAN on the following dates: August 15–21, 2022 September 5–11, 2022 October 10–16, 2022 (These dates currently not on sale.)"
That is so weird. It just skips those weeks all together. Why on earth wouldn't they allow people who don't care about seeing Hugh to purchase (much cheaper) tickets for those weeks?
Looks like they've gotten rid of row BB in the side orchestra (even though it still appears on some days' seating charts), and row A is the first row on the sides. We'll know in a month how the view is!

While I agree they should sell those dates, I don’t think it’s a surprise they aren’t. Especially since the last Broadway musical Hugh was in they did the same thing not going on with performances when Hugh was out.

Santo Loquasto is a genius (minus his bus and truck design for the most recent Carousel revival). I'm getting serious DOLLY vibes from these pics of the set, and I mean that in such a great way! Can't wait to see this.

I have fond memories of seeing the last major tour in Alabama and how smart and lush it felt, I'm curious to see this. I know it's all for Jackman, but I'm curious how they made this felt fresh and not some Hollywood Community Theater.
I have a general seating question at the winter garden ( I know these get annoying, sorry) I sat in row L orchestra right ( 4th and 5th seat in all the way from the right) and though I dont remember there being any sightline issues for BeetleJuice, it did feel like I was super far away. I am noticing some tickets for the dates I am looking at like in the fifth row of the orchestra sides like 3rd and 4th seats in for around $270 ( a bargain!!! LOL)
Can someone speak from experience about sightline issues from that area? For nearly $300 a piece I really don't want to miss any of the show. Do you guys think it's better to be closer off to the side at this theater or further back and trying to be a few more seats in? Thanks in advance!
I sat in D8 for Beetlejuice and missed a bit. Not enough that I regretted sitting there at all, but I would imagine even further to the side would be a lot worse. I almost always sit side orchestra so I'm definitely not someone who is going to harp on about sitting as center as possible, but I don't think I'd sit far side for $300. If it was $100, sure. Maybe once previews start there will be more info on just how PV those seats are
Jackman seems to have a Midler contract, giving him vacation outs. Will there not be a Donna Murphy? The show is the event for many people, and we can easily imagine a half a dozen near-stars who would keep the show going. Or is that TBD. They don't say that the show shutters. It's not the Boy from Oz, though, a mere star vehicle even though of course it IS a star vehicle.

Hugh sounds even more excited (and emotional) than fans/co-stars about the revival. He records a message before entering the Winter Garden for the 1st day of tech. The sentimental reason attached to the musical - his Dad (who passed away in September this year) saw him as a schoolboy in his high school production of The Music Man, where he played one of the salesmen in the rock Island Opening number)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Also, why should they be embarrassed that all the cheaper seats (starting at $99) are sold out for the early part of the run, so all that's left are the $599-699 options? If someone wants to pay less, they just have to wait. Tickets have been on sale for forever, so people had plenty of time before now to buy. It's not unfair or unreasonable.
