Are there ANY updates of this? Feels so weird that we still don’t even have the principle cast members announced yet. Anyone know if any of the original actors are still attached?
Was recently looking for a hint of dates for this, and I found an audition notice from November that has the first preview scheduled for June 7, with closing on August 13.
"We regret to announce that the highly anticipated production of Three Sisters—directed by Sam Gold, in a new adaptation by Clare Barron, starring Oscar Isaac and Greta Gerwig—has been indefinitely postponed.
Originally announced as part of the 2019/20 season, the production was initially delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the intervening three years, we’ve worked to reunite the original company for a summer 2023 production. Unfortunately, new scheduling conflicts have arisen for the production’s in-demand artists, which proved to be insurmountable in bringing the production to life during the 2022/23 season. We hope that we’ll be able to bring this new production to the stage in a future season, and we join our community in the disappointment of this second postponement.
The act of producing theatre takes tremendous labor and support from visionary artists, dedicated staff and enthusiastic supporters. Because the timeline takes many months—sometimes years—to bring these productions to the stage, there will not be a replacement production in the 2022/23 season.
Premiere, Full Season, SmartPass and Pay-As-You-Go members will receive refunds for their Three Sisters ticket(s), and the season will be shortened to four productions. How to Defend Yourself is currently playing through April 2 and The Half-God of Rainfall will close out the season in spring/summer 2023."
No surprise since Isaac is onstage currently and is one of our most in-demand movie stars, and Gerwig will have a significant press tour for BARBIE from June to August or even longer (and has 2 young kids, and is allegedly adapting Narnia books for Netflix next).
Extremely disappointed, but not surprised considering the lack of info and the scheduling being opposite Barbie. :/ This and 4000 Miles are the shows I am most bothered the pandemic took from us!!
What I want to know is whether members will be reimbursed for a fifth of the season. That they needed to postpone is understandable. That they’re not slotting anything else in as a replacement feels irresponsible.
In the email I got (which was also in the post below), they mention Premiere, Full Season, SmartPass and Pay-As-You-Go members will receive refunds for their Three Sisters ticket(s), and the season will be shortened to four productions.
It's disappointing, but I guess it's too late for them to throw in a different production that would be as anticipated as this was.

Nope! I emailed them asking to confirm they had gotten my request and said I should expect my check by the end of April. So fingers crossed those comes soon! I still think check is such an inefficient and silly way to do refunds
