Oh right true - just bought it lol. Loving the opening so far - god the orchestrations sound so much better than that those awfully thin London recording orchestrations.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
is it just the songs, or is the full dialogue/script recorded? in the NPR preview it sounded like they included a lot of dialogue? ugh I can't wait!!!!

It's just the songs, with some little bits of dialogue when it come right before/after/in the middle of a song.
Yes. There is definitely dialogue but I wouldn't describe it as the 'full script' by any means.

Just hearing "move on" today brought a flood of wonderful memories and I'm so grateful that they recorded this. Will most definitely be waiting at 12:01 tonight to download :)"
What am I missing? What does liking this show have to do with being an ALW fan?"
Was just trying to make the point that I'm not a typical Sondheim fan, so I'm not one of these people who will enter into the debates of Bernadette vs Annaleigh. Was just blown away by the story, the score and what seemed to be amazing performances. "
Thanks for responding!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I can't see one on iTunes? Usually they appear in "recently added" but not here.

It’s available on iTunes now. Search for “sunday in the park with george 3017” specifically. I’m in a hotel room and used by iPhone and Apple Music so not sure about the digital booklet.
I’m not finding it listed on Amazon for CD release or on Apple Music. It’s only 8:25 PM here in Los Angeles. Maybe it will show up on Apple Music when it’s actually Friday here...

I wasn’t as massive a fan of this production as others on here (though I still loved it), but I’ll be damned if this album wasn’t worth the wait. It sounds absolutely GORGEOUS. Crisp. Lush. Emotional.
My God Annaleigh’s “Sunday in the Park” is magnificent! I can’t believe how anyone can top Bernadette. I loved her so much in the production when I watched her but i thought Bernadette sang it better (based on the obc).... but God listening to her (Ashford) now gives me goosebumps. Absolutely magnificent.
