I went today and got the last SRO ticket which ended up being for the matinee around noon.
As mentioned by a previous user, the SRO view for this show is horrible. You cannot see anything that happens in the second level of the set. Full scenes happen up there, along with other moments. What bothered me most was that my ticket nor the box office attendant mentioned that the view was obstructed. Usually it's expected that for SRO the top of the stage will be slightly cut off, but in this case, it was half the stage. For $40, I shouldn't complain because it was still very worth it. Just a warning.
Thinking about trying to get standing room next Thursday. Will I have to line up beforehand or do you think I'll be alright if I just show up when the office opens
My friends and I got SRO for the Sat matinee without any issue or standing in line beforehand. It was a couple of hours before the show and they were dead center. My friends sat on the floor for some of the moments on the second level, but I got all I needed to see from Matt Bomer....
I did SRO for the Saturday evening performance on July 7. They actually didn't start selling standing until around 6:15p - the show hadn't yet gotten close enough to selling out when the box office opened at 10a. (As I mentioned elsewhere - I think on the TBITB rush thread - they said to come back at 4:30, then at 5, etc., until we formed a mini line around 6p. Keep in mind the week of the 4th is typically a light theater week, so our experience might not reflect other Saturdays... especially as we approach the closing.)
It's on TKTS today, and you can also look on telecharge to get an idea of how many seats are still available. They likely won't wait to 100% sell out before selling SRO, but I think they like to get pretty close... All this having been said, if I were going to try it again, I'd go when the box office opens and politely ask then if they're selling SRO - and not be surprised if they say to come back later.
Thanks for the responses - I know my mom wants to head in and see the Downton Abbey exhibition going on so I think we will do that in the afternoon and just check with the box office beforehand. If they say to come back later we can just head back afterward.
Wasn't sure where else to ask this, but has anyone been monitoring Stubhub for tickets? Since there are still tickets available via BO and telecharge just wondering if the prices of the tickets on Stubhub are dropping close to showtime?
I don't feel comfortable copying/pasting other people's posts from one thread to another (even with quotation marks & attribution) so, sorry, just going to link to the other thread: Yes, there are some Stubhub reports out there - https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.php?thread=1109123&page=2
JUST ANNOUNCED: We're offering standing room tickets for tonight's Special Midnight Performance of @boysbandbway! Tickets are $40 (exact cash needed) & will be available at @theactorsfund will-call table outside the theater lobby. Line up starting at 11 pm for the midnight show. We'll see you there!
Just did standing room this morning! First person got there at 5:30. Only 11 standing room tickets. Also, they increased the price to $50 for the last 2 days.
It's the last performance, and producers and the creative team tend to stand back there --- I wouldn't count on there being many spots available (if any).
I went to the regular time performance 7/26 and got the last SRO around 5pm for the 8:00 show.
