Can't wait for March 30 at the Orpheum.

My buddy and I are the envy of our friends who poo-poo'ed us getting season tickets a year ago.

I, too am surprised that Joshua Henry won't be moving to the Broadway cast. He's brilliant as Aaron Burr and really deserves his shot.

It also makes me a bit sad that I won't be able to see him again. It's really a loss.

On a positive note, I'm glad Karen Olivo isn't leaving the Chicago cast. She is simply perfect. I can't imagine anyone performing this role any better than her.

Great casting. If you're not familiar with Solea Pfeiffer, you're in for a treat. She was made for Eliza. And Amber Iman as Peggy/Maria? Fabulous.

So excited that a cast is finally announced!  I was going to try to get to Chicago to see Joshua Henry as Burr, but now I won't have to!  This makes me feel a little better about the stressful experience of being in the online queue for tickets :).

I wouldn't be surprised if Josh ends up playing the role on Broadway later, still. Even if he opens every other company first!

Karli DiNardo is one of the most beautiful dancers I have ever seen and an equally lovely person. So happy for her.

Well ... I'm taking my shot.  Anyone have Chicago tickets for any Fri-Sun before mid-Feb?  Willing to trade my March 23 seats (2, row T in side Orch but not limited view) or pay above face but avoid the insane Ticketmaster fees.  I've never seen the Chicago cast so this would be our only chance.  Let me know - thanks!!!

Fantastic casting...loved joshua in violet and know he will be a spectacular Burr, Rory was amazing in BOM, heard wonderful things about Luwoye.  this is going to be very special and grateful hamilton producers have put so much into the tour casting!!!!

I have tix for the first preview March 10th(along with other nights throughout run) and will report in after the show to this thread.

I wonder why they decided to use an alternate for the Chicago production, but not for the tour.

I was waiting to see the cast announcement before getting tickets.  I went to the SHNSF website immediately after the announcement and managed to find two non-premium priced tickets in the loge (although not together and off to the side) for July.   I feel pretty lucky right now.

If anybody knows how long Joshua will be staying with the tour please share. I may travel to LA if I know he'll be there but don't want to book tickets and miss him again (if he leaves or moves to another company)

Daniel Breaker is replacing Joshua Henry where, though? This is the tour thread, so when he leaves the tour? Or in Chicago? Any more info?

I've also heard Daniel Breaker mentioned, but not which company.

I'm still so over joyed with this castin news for the tour. I thought maybe like one cast member from one of the other companies at some point might be a part of it, but was not prepared for how many we got! Especially Joshua Henry! I was so jealous of Chicago when he was announced there and now I get to see him live, twice?? My tickets aren't til June and July though, so I can't lie, I'll probably enter the lotto in hopes of seeing him earlier in the run as well. I'm just dying to hear that voice live. I'm excited for everyone else too, this entire cast is mind blowing.

BroadwayConcierge said: "Really blown away by this cast. Also, so happy for Jordan Donica as Lafayette/Jefferson! He's the current Raoul in Phantom on Broadway, and when I caught him a few months ago, I could tell he had unbridled talent."

I was excited for him too! Talk about a style change! Phantom to Hamilton (especially Lafayette). I feel like someone should make a "get you an actor who can do both" meme when they have production photos.

Daniel Breaker (or whoever it ends up being) is going to Chicago. Joshua Henry is doing San Fran/LA. And honestly, I doubt Joshua will "tour". He'll probably do California and then call it quits - it doesn't make sense for Henry to be in Arizona and Colorado.....

Breaker seems miscast...

Having not seen the show, is there anything specific to the Broadway or sit down productions? Like, will I be missing anything if I try and see the tour? Is there an advantage to seeing the Broadway production?

It's pretty low tech. I can't imagine they would be cutting a ton of the scenery.

Well, only doing those cities takes him through December, so it's not like it's some bus and truck tour. They are huge sit-downs. He's probably have to renew his contract to continue past that point in any case, unless he signed on for way more than a year...

The physical production shouldn't be any different. With all tours, the main difference is size of the house, intimacy. And with HAMILTON, I expect that to largely affect the sound design. That's true of all tours - most tours have horrible sound to blast the show to a house sometimes twice the size of the Bway production - but I would think HAMILTON has the most to lose, since its sound design is one of the more incredible feats on Bway.

I do know that the lighting plot for San Francisco will be the same as the Broadway and Chicago lighting plots -  per the lighting guy I sat next to in Chicago.
