@Caye2 There is zero correlation between how long you've been a TDF member and where your seats are located. TDF provides a will call list to each box office and it is up to the box office as to how the seats are pulled. It is luck of the draw really.
Someone could get "better" TDF seats for any number of reasons. Perhaps a group of 3 tickets become available in center orchestra b/c of a cancellation or house seat going unused. Rather than let it go dead, the box office MAY decide to move someone who requested 3 tickets on TDF to fill that space. Maybe that patron who purchased 3 TDF seats was the last order to go through, but if they were the only person on the list who requested 3 seats, then they are going to get that location. In general you should expect to get the side or rear of whatever is the relevant price zone (as that is often where holds are put in place for TDF so full price sales are pushed to the front and center of each price zone). Anything better than that means some prime seats went unsold and you were one of the lucky ones the box office filled the space with.
"We want to let you know that we are in the process of upgrading the TDF member ticketing system to better serve you. Our goal is to make your online experience better than ever. We expect to have the new system up and running by the Wednesday, October 10.
*PLEASE NOTE: In order to facilitate the transition we must shut down the member site. TDF members will not be able to log on to purchase tickets from Saturday, October 6 at 6 p.m. until the morning of October 10 while the system is upgrading. (If the process goes more quickly than we anticipate, we may be up again sometime on Tuesday).
We suggest you purchase your tickets for the week of October 8 by Friday, October 5."

No problem! And if you got a ticket, I'll see you there ?? I missed out on it last week (I can only see this Friday or Saturday, I just can't do a 3 hour 15 minute show during the week) so I was happy to see it up again and for so soon!

If you live a certain distance outside of New York, then I think it's only $20/year. (Which is great, because I live in California and don't use it very often!)

I have an extra ticket for tomorrow if you’re interested. I’ll pm you as well.
Love TDF but Boo to shutting down the site for 5 days. I'm no IT guy, but wasn't there a better way to do this upgrade? Not to go into a long story but I have guests in from out of town and an order that went thru then had a credit card authorization problem then the site went down then closed for Columbus day and now stuck with a Tuesday night order that may or may not have gone thru... No other way to upgrade the site then to shut down for days???
Yes, thx, but tomorrow is Columbus Day- the offices are closed. I plan on calling Tuesday but that is the day of the performance I ordered. Bad set up I think for a member of over 20 years.
If you placed the order and then your card bounced (or whatever happened) your tickets will still be available. When I put in my credit card for a show, I put it in incorrectly and didn’t realize it for almost a week and there was a block on my account. I paid it and all was well. From the email I got, they immediately send payment to the theatre and bill your card later.
