Ok these "Broadway" show characters are making this unbearable! Their "acting" is crewship at best. They should have gotten some z-listers to do these intros.
Wow is Motown asleep???? They have a BLEEPING HIT SHOW right now and this is the energy????
That's the best Michael they can find????!?! There are literally less than 10 roles for African American boys on Broadway and that kid is young Michael. I don't think so!
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I guess Motown would be interesting, if I had seen everything else I want to see before it. I like the music, so that's why it is kind of a draw.

"You can't pray away the gay."-Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy.

I think Mowtown is actually the surprise hit of the season. Train-wreck it may be, but that crap will seats and that show (as seen here) will tour just fine.
"Motown" isn't for me, but I'm sure a lot of people would love to experience that show. I thought their first song had some great energy. And how cute was the flirting with Audra?
