They have five minutes to sell the show to a national audience to lead up to their tour and this is what they decided to do? Glad I never saw this..
Scratch and claw for every day you're worth! Make them drag you screaming from life, keep dreaming You'll live forever here on earth.

Whoever chose that as the song they would perform should be fired from their life.

re: Opening Number. A big bust.

I loved it, as did most on the board it seems.

But am curious for details why you didn't?

I had 96,000 drinks before I saw BRING IT ON. After that performance, I'm thinking maybe that's why I liked it....

Regardless, I feel like it didn't do it justice. It was fun.

Was that the sequel to In The Heights?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I loved Bring It On and this was NOT the number I would have chosen at all. It was way better than this.

Judith Light was so great.

I saw In the Heights and even though all the music sounds pretty much the same and the set it is hideous, they had better stuff to present. They were certainly given a great opportunity there. My only regret is I'm watching this live and unable to fast-forward my TIvo.

Opening number:

Unfocused. A mishmash. Horrible song, awful lyrics. Who wrote that tripe?

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'm liking the introductions of each performance by current Broadway shows.

I was lucky enough to see the opening number the morning in the theater. It was amazing there and I thought it translated well to the TV screen. I LOVED it.

I personally LOVED the opening number and thought NPH NAILED it! I was a cheerleader and so was my daughter, but that number from "Bring it On" was NOT good in my opinion! They all looked so old too! Yeah- I just said that.

So wait, "characters" from shows are introducing stuff in "character"?? Argh. So weird to see Musfasa with a mic.

NPH should fire his joke writer. You can hear the audience faking it.

Was it me, or did Scarlett totally roll her eyes and drop the class for a moment?

SO happy for Gabriel Ebert! Definitely the most deserving nominee in that category.

Oh God this is bad. Gabriel Ebert winning for featured, and so early on. This means they've honored Ebert and not going to honor Bertie perhaps....? :-/
