Dang. The server for IAmOnMTV.com crashed earlier... well atleast on MY computer. I bet it was Bailey fans. It was working a little bit before the official announcement of the winner.
I love the single. I think it is a good key for her. I love the "music video" for it, too. When she sings "...when they unlock the door" I keep picturing the way Cassie S. sang that part. ::ugh::
I like how it ended with all of the girls back (and in order by elimination I might add) while Bailey was doing her encore. And whoever asked if Bailey's father was a priest, he was.
who was playing emmett in tonight's show? He looks familiar but I am pretty sure its not a usual cast member
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
I am saving money to see the tour in Dallas and I hope I can see it. Do the tours do kind of like a Stage Door thing? What about handing out Playbills? Do they do that?
i think it ended up being bailey herself that summed up why she won....she didnt really have to act to become sorority girl elle...she IS (literally) sorority girl elle. tonight, if there was any doubt, it was clear who NOT was the best singer, but who was the best elle woods. cant wait to see the show with the new leading lady. what an overall fun episode to watch. every audtion number was great (both girls) the emotions were there and the ending with the other girls was sweet. what a fun journey this was.
Legally Blonde (LB & Bailey) * Hairspray * Spring Awakening * Rent * Little Mermaid * Wicked(BW & the tour) * Lion King * Chorus Line
I feel like they only chose Bailey because she has more fans...if you look at the Vote Count Bailey is winning by like 40,000 which means of course, more ticket sales.
So even though Autumn has the real talent...Bailey won out in the end...grrr
edit: Okay, not the ONLY reason. She can dance and has that sorority girl vibe. But it was one of the factors that I'm sure helped make up their minds.
edit edit: i take what i said back since someone pointed out something that I can't believe i missed...my bad... Updated On: 7/22/08 at 12:03 AM
There's it NOTHING you can do about it. You really can't judge Bailey without seeing her opening night to see if she has improved. I just really think it's inapropriate to put her down because she doesn't have Autumn's vocals (at least at the time the show was recorded).
Bailey wasn't my first choice, but overall she's much more fun to watch, even if she doesn't have the strongest voice. When I watched Bailey she held my attention. When Autumn was onstage, I found myself looking at the other performers. Autumn is talented, but was not entirely right for the role.
just watched this show for the first time out of curiosity. i cant believe who they chose as the new star. watching the auditions i kept thinking to myself "that chubby girl has a terrible voice. this is a joke". and then she won. bizarre. very bizarre.
I'm glad that Jerry Mitchell didn't sugar-coat things and completely gush over either girl. Neither finalist is ideal for this role and he made that clear. I thought that gave at least SOME integrity to this whole debacle.

I agree completely. It's all hamming and nothing is sincere (even Mitchell called he out on her "schmacting"). At least with Autumn (who is far from perfect, too), I bought it. Just compare their intros to "So Much Better". Worlds apart, both vocally and in terms of sincere acting.
Bailey is an amazing dancer. Autumn is a competent dancer. Give Autumn a few weeks of rehearsal and she'll have the choreography. Even voice lessons, though, can't make Bailey the singer that Autumn is. I think they picked wrong. But that's just an opinion.
I just watched this episode now, and feel like, despite Autumn's talents, the correct winner was chosen this evening. Jerry Mitchell was right that neither lady was ready yet. However, did anyone else get the sense that Jerry Mitchell didn't seem all that pleased throughout the entire thing?
Bailey just felt a lot more watchable. Autumn's acting didn't seem as genuine as Bailey's did, and Heather Hach was right when she said Bailey was more natural. I think the competition was over by the end of the Positive routine. It was clear, to me anyway, that Bailey had it at that point. That's where it all fell apart for her.
