I had a visual issue with that, also. Got sidetracked in the Cancellation Line thread about it. my post #3413 & #3423
You saw a different understudy than I did so do they not have a mourning coat to fit either of them? Was just odd. Also stands out as Angelica is there in her full mourning coat. Sounds trivial but it takes away from the whole look of that scene.
Thanks for directing me to your post. Hard to keep track of what is where on here. :)
"I hope your Fanny is bigger than my Peter."
Mary Martin to Ezio Pinza opening night of Fanny.
My bestie is at Hamilton right now. The show just resumed. They had to stop the show due to technical difficulties? He said this was due to the storm outside and the technical aspects of the show were effected. I have never heard of this before. Has anyone else?
report from friends who were actually in the room where it happened
" From the start, there was a high pitched squeal that was annoying. They tried, before the start, to correct it, thought they had, started the show, and it continued. So, suddenly, in the middle of The Story of Tonight, the actors walked off the stage and there was an announcement that this sound system was having problems and they would take a five minute break to fix it. 20 minutes later Burr came out to ask our patience as they continued to work on the system. People were concerned that they would cancel the performance (I think there were people that were willing to go help with the repairs to be sure that the show would go on) but as time went on, many were more and more discouraged. Finally, after 40 minutes, they announced that all was fixed and they would restart in 5. And, they did. Must be tough for the actors to just step right back in. And, they did. "
I think the "prime time" thing was in reference to Lexi Lawson. It's a little strange for someone to make their Broadway debut and then miss 2 weeks of performances. She must have really messed up her voice to be out for so long. I didn't hear many reports of her only performance (there was just one, correct?), did we hear how she did in the role that night?
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
It was my understanding that she definitely went on for her debut on Monday, July 11 as well as for the Hillary matinee on Tuesday, July 12. I believe she went on for the Tuesday evening show, but she has definitely been out since at least Wednesday, the 13th.
Yikes. I heard from a friend that the new Burr is absolutely dreadful, but I think she may have seen the understudy and not the replacement. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

The "new Burr" (Brandon Victor Dixon) doesn't begin performances until mid-August. The role's understudies (Sydney James Harcourt and Austin Smith) are alternating weekly until Dixon begins. Your friend had to have seen one of them.
The replacement, doesn't even start for several weeks. The understudies are taking turns a week as the a time, I believe.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
