Im sooo happy that Billy won all these awards they deserved every single one of them and maybe even two more( Score and Featured Actress) (just saying).
I guess Frank is hurt, he had a visable boot on his foot at the Tonys. I hope he is ok. Get well soon Franks!
Tommy's name was never removed from the list on the outside of the Imperial, though there were three different editions of the Playbill in May, one with the 3+Tommy w/a Tanner insert, one with all five, and one with the 3+Tanner. June's current one that I got on Tuesday is back to 3+Tommy.
However its printed, glad he's back, though I was sad to see Tanner leave.
As I was leaving the theatre on Tuesday night a friend and I heard a member of staff telling a lady that there were 3 Billys and an understudy. We had a word with the lady and told her that in fact there were 4 Billys and no understudy. I think somebody needs to bring the staff up-to-date. Having seen Tommy I can tell you that he is definitely a Billy and not an understudy. If I was Tommy or a member of his family I would be getting fed up of it.
Wow. I loved this. And I loved Next to Normal and thought I probably wouldn't see a better new musical this season, but...wow. This was better. This was outstanding. I normally don't like to see shows more than once but I feel I could see this again and again and again.
I guess Karen Olivo must be pretty spectacular because I fell for Haydn Gwynne in this role. Does anybody know when she's contracted until? I'd like to catch it again before she leaves.
Tommy is not listed as an understudy in the Playbill, though.
Oh, and Tanner's name WAS on the outside of the the theatre because I distinctly remember noticing it. If I took a picture I will pull it up and show you...
The last I heard was that Haydn and Greg would both be with the show at least through September. I think Greg will be going west with the San Francisco cast and I don't know what Haydn has planned.

I am another 'Tommy' fan. I was so glad that Greg acknowledged him, and Frank and Tanner, at the Tony's. When I first saw the show back in March Tommy had just joined the rotation and since I was not following any of the forums at the time I did not who he was as he was not included in any of the marketing. Of course my wife and I were blown away by his performance. His energy and precision were outstanding. The one thing that really came through was how much he was enjoying himself. But I was still a victim of the marketing and had a nagging feeling that I was missing something by not seeing one of the "Three Billy's", Hayden was also out the night I first saw the show. Last month I went back and saw the show again with Trent and Haydn. While I enjoyed it just as much and loved Trent's performance I finally knew that Tommy, while different, was just as good. I won't compare them as the second time around I was much more focused on Billy where as the first time I was trying to take in the whole show. So for anyone who has yet to see the show or has seen it just once, don't think you will be short changed by any of the four Billy's, they are all wonderful.
And a tip, if you want to see it again with a new Billy, use the cancellation line. My second time around I got to the theater around 6:45 I saw that Trent was on that night and that it was sold out. I was first on the cancellation line and had a great box seat by 7:05.
Thanks for the explanation JbaraFan1. If that is what Equity rules are then there is nothing that can be done about it but having an understudy in a 3-man rotating role seems unnecessary. Whilst at the show last week I had a chat with the people sat next to me. They said that friends of theirs had been to see Billy Elliot recently and felt cheated as they didn't get one of the proper Billys but got the understudy instead. As far as the fans are concerned there is no understudy - just four Billys.
Tommy Bachelor covers Michael? Has he ever gone on?
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
