Yeah no. No one can stop me from watching Only Murders and certainly no one can't stop me from being at Laurie Metcalf's triumphant return to the Broadway stage after 2 years.
John Adams said: "Seb28 said: "His views on gun laws have nothing to do with the fact that someone wanted him dead over his opinions."
An argument could be made that his "opinions" included "His views on gun laws".
Seb, when Kirk said, "I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year", what is your opinion on how he defined, "gun deaths"?"
That does not mean he thinks that these kind of deaths are not important. It means when compared to the importance of the bigger whole, as he saw it, his views on the second amendment, it would save many lives on the other side of the spectrum. That was a matter of principle and can definitely not be held against him now that someone wanted him dead because of his opinion.

Does anyone have the link to the online list where "the left" are supposed to tick the box next to our name when we feel we have sufficiently denounced this tragedy?
One of the posters here seems to be quite certain that our response is insufficient, and I'd hate to miss the roll call that proves otherwise.
The sooner you people stop engaging with him, the quicker the MAGAt is gone.

It seems insane because of the word, "billion". To most of us, even just .25 billion dollars seems like an insane amount of money.
But Disney's net worth (according to this source, which may or may not be accurate) is $204.53 billion dollars.
Remove the word "billion" and consider $4 in comparison to $204.53. That's only 1.96%. Are they really hurting?

Are they really hurting? Not at the moment as Disney stock (like much of the market) routinely has single-digit swings in both directions.
What happens to its market capitalization in the weeks ahead will be worth monitoring.
And while it is a bit tougher to objectively assess reputational damage to its brand, the board and C-Suite obsess over it like few others.

Agreed. IMO, it's too soon to celebrate a loss that is comparable to the cost of an egg Mcmuffin.
You are right, though. Time will tell.
DONE, as well as Paramount Plus (CBS). BYE!
Seb28 said: "Guys, you are missing the point. The point is that "gun laws" are never an excuse. Why are you even trying that at this point? He could have been murdered at any other time and place with any other weapon, from knives to poisont o a vehicle toa crossbow."
In 2023, 79% of all murders were committed with guns. Obviously people commit crimes not guns, but it's intellectually dishonest to suggest if guns were banned, murder rates would be the same. Desire to commit a crime is not the same as having the opportunity to commit a crime.
Charlie Kirk understood that, he just thought keeping the second amendment as is was more important than minimizing gun deaths. I don't agree but he was having a more honest conversation on the topic.

And even though the killer might not have voted on anyone, all findings and evidence coming from the authorities is very clear of the motive and mindset of the killer."
You know next to nothing about Tyler Robinson, especially because he's not cooperating with the police. it appears he cared about trans rights. Okay. Rand Paul says FCC ‘was wrong to weigh in’ on Kimmel and I agree. That doesn't mean I agree with Paul on anything else or am a Rand Pail supporter. Tyler Robinson is responsible for his actions, not some larger political group, he may or may not have identified with.
Regarding Harris Tweeting about Trump violating the Twitter terms of use, she didn't work for the FCC and there's no equivalent governing body for social media. What she was responding to was Trump insinuating in 2019 that if he was removed from office it could lead to civil war. It was literally about Trump threatening violence.
Jonathan Cohen said: "You know next to nothing aboutTyler Robinson, especially because he's not cooperating with the police."
This may or may not be true. The only person to make a statement re: his cooperation, or lack of cooperation is Utah Governor Spencer Cox. Cox's statement was then disseminated by several news outlets.
Video of Robinson's first court appearance shows him remaining completely silent, however he is neither asked a question, nor requested to make/give any statement. In the video, there is no indication that he is non-cooperative. You can, however, see him nod in what appears to be acknowledgment/understanding several times.
Newsweek reported this morning, "Kash Patel, Utah Officials Could Hurt Tyler Robinson Case: Legal Experts". After reading the article, I believe the headline would be more accurate if the words, "Tyler Robinson Case" were edited to read, "the Case Against Tyler Robinson".

As a bad thing. He also explained the bigger picture with more bad things.

Curious which comments they thought were ill-timed and insensitive, since everything had to be approved by ABC's censors ahead of time. The part showing Trump answering a question about his supposed grief by directing attention to the gaudy new White House ballroom?

Disney is getting bent over by everybody, I think they have a submission kink.

My best guess is that Kimmel wouldn't make the statement that they wanted him to make last week, so they've landed on the company making the statement rather than Mr. Kimmel making it. I bet that's where the above is coming from. Tomorrow night will be interesting to see. And boy oh boy did they have that 're-subscribe' button ready to go. ;-)
He was never going to be extorted. So happy they realized how much money they were losing and that the First Amendment is still a thing in America. It's been a wild two weeks.
I actually heard a person, in real life, compare CK to Martin Luther King.

I suspect it was the part where he said Robinson was one of their own. We don't know that as he appears to not be cooperating with police/investigators. All we know is what his parents are saying.
I winced a bit at that part of the comment. Kimmel is known for researching his material and I was surprised at that slip. JMO

Well... tbf they were literally running to call the Shooter Trans from the jump. Nancy Mace literally called the shooter a "T**nny" like immediately.
I hope he has learned his lesson and understands the difference between "free speech" and "deliberately telling lies on tv about the motives of the terrorist" now. Because the latter is supporting terrorism. Because it lays the foundation for approving these deeds.
Also, it would be interesting to see what happens if people on the right side of history also cancel their subscriptions now.
TheatreFan4 said: "Well... tbf they were literally running to call the Shooter Trans from the jump."
No, from the moment the evidence was presented. Which was also before the episode of the Jimmy Kimmel show in question. So they were the ones running to call the killer maga from the jump. Which is a problem. That kind of misinformation lays the basis for attacks like this.
Looking forward to your return tomorrow night!
