My prediction is that Hannah Waddingham will play Madame Morrible. I may be wrong, of course, but her latest social media interactions have led me to believe that she’s involved in the movie."
You must be looking at Cynthia Erivo’s social media as there is ZERO hinting of anything you’re talking about on Hannah’s social media that would imply WICKED.
Could it be that I wasn’t wrong after all? I noticed that Hannah had recently started to follow Jon M. Chu and Ariana Grande on Instagram (she followed Cynthia Erivo already). And her (now deleted) bio said “player of septas, witches and b*tches”. Even though she has played many (and I mean MANY) witches in her career, it felt like too much of a coincidence to me. The fact that she has deleted that bio since the Morrible rumors started only adds to my suspicion. But I may be wrong. I wonder if I’m the one who first stared this rumor…
Amanda Seyfried reportedly auditioned heavily for the role of Glinda in Wicked. I guess we'll never know what might've been.
What is the wildest thing you’ve ever done to get a role?
I have dreams that I’m still auditioning for “Wicked.” Last summer while I was playing Elizabeth [on “The Dropout”], on the weekends I was auditioning in person to play Glinda in the movie version of “Wicked”—because I wanted it that much that I was like, “You know what? Yeah, I have to play the last scene of ‘The Dropout’ on Tuesday. I’ll give my Sunday to you.” I literally bent over backwards while playing the hardest role of my life. But I think it also taught me how far I’ve come as a singer, which I really wanted to prove. Because ever since “Les Miz,” I was like, I need to be better. I need to do better. So whatever comes next in terms of musicals, I’m finally prepared.

I agree that she is an outstanding actor, and I hope that her singing vocals have improved because her vocals as "Cosette" in "Les Miserables" were lacking.

Apparently, Andre deShields is being rumored as Wizard?

So we have a former Wiz possibly playing Wicked's Wizard. This should be interesting to see what momentum comes from him. Delete Sentimental Man but keep Wonderful
In addition to Hannah Waddingham and Andre De Shields, I have also heard a rumor (again RUMOR) that Jelani Alladin is being considered/in-talks to play Fiyero. If this is true, I support this casting 100%! Jelani is so talented and he would be an amazing love interest for Cynthia's Elphaba and Ariana's Glinda.
RippedMan said: "No offense to him, but I'd think they'd want a name for the role."
Yeah, I'd be shocked if the rumored castings are true. On paper, you'd think more established film actors like Taron Egerton (for Fiyerio) or J.K. Simmons (for The Wizard) would be considered.
If true, Jelani and Andre would both be absolutely perfect casting.
Not every cast member has to be an A-list performer, and Fiyero is a terrific role for mainstream exposure and continued musical film work (he was in both TTB and Respect). However, he’s also involved in the Disney+ BATB prequel, and a recently announced Showtime series. Not sure what the schedule or timeline is for those projects.
I would be VERY surprised if Fiyero was not someone with more clout, fame and popularity. I think all the supporting roles could be filled by Broadway talent but I guarantee the big roles will be big names. It'll be the same as in Les Mis - bigger film/tv actors for the main roles and fill the rest of the roles by top notch broadway veterans.

If the rumors are true, how could André be able to balance between this and Death of a Salesman? It's possible he could take a hiatus from/leave the production when it's time for him to film his scenes in Wicked.
Globefan said: "The Wizard wouldn't even appear on screen until right before the end of part 1 of the film. So they can get Andre if he can squeeze it in."
They're shooting both movies together. So yes, he can technically be needed on set for just a handful of days still because the role itself isn't that big, but the movie split won't make a difference.

It appears she got a callback for Elphaba in Broadway company, and not for the film. The casting breakdown for the film also explicitly said Nessarose will be cast with a person in a wheelchair.
