That I would like to see happen. Worth the indulgence

HAIRSPRAY: The Musical did to some extent."
Oh yeah, I do remember that when Hairspray was coming out it was almost everywhere.

Huh.
What's with placing them on the railings?

It aligns with all the other over-designing of this production. The original poster design for Wicked on Broadway was graphic, simple and instantly iconic. I don’t like this fairyland Disney CGI princess aesthetic of the film. It’s a bit tacky and overwhelms the eyes.
The posters look fan-made.

Why is Glinda standing on the edge of a balcony ?
Wicked has been rated PG for some scary action, thematic material and brief suggestive material.

^ I was expecting more PG-13. But I’ll go with this
Not shocked to see Part 1 be rated PG. I imagine Part 2 will be PG-13 just based on the remaining material.

No way they will allow either film to be PG-13.

It’s an homage to Jenny in Forrest Gump. Jokes aside, I agree there’s no way either film would be rated above PG. Nothing in the stage show would warrant a PG-13 rating and the tone and marketing are clearly aiming at a broad, family-friendly audience.

So we’re not getting the darker scenes added in from the book, like when one of the boys gets f***ed by a Tiger? Well damn, why even go see it then?
I kind of knew that the film, and certainly Part 2, would be rated PG. Wicked the musical is certainly toned down in comparison to the novel. Anyway, these character posters have been revealed and it's teased that a brand-new trailer is coming tomorrow. These look pretty nice.

They are absolutely dreadful.

The costumes are really hit and miss for me so far.
Elphaba’s gown looks rather bulky, cheap and synthetic.
Scrolling through the character posters and getting to Dillamond legitimately made me laugh out loud.
There’s a very famous drink we have here in Scotland called Irn Bru, and every time I see Boq I can’t help but think he looks like a rejected Irn Bru mascot…

The second trailer has been released. While the marketing materials have been hit-or-miss for me, the film itself continues to look absolutely stunning.

They've got her riding a bike with the lion cub in a basket a la Miss Gulch.
Well done, Jon Chu.

I’m reserving my judgement on Cynthia’s singing of Defying Gravity. But it keeps looking more exciting. I am counting on this to be a breather from last year’s The Color Purple.

If you listen for it you can actually hear Gulch's theme in the trailer.

Yeeesss! Totally missed this till someone pointed it out on IG.
Fantastic details like this remind me of how much care they put into the film and helps ease my anxiety about the final product (a little...)
I also love the detail of the silver slippers being house in a case where the interior looks to be made out of rubies. I don't even really like Wicked and I'm insanely excited for this film.
I'm not a WICKED purist like some of you and was greatly looking forward to this prior to the first trailer, but I continue to be baffled by the plastic-looking visual style of the film and the music choices for the trailers. Is this fragmented Defying Gravity going to appeal to ANYONE?
Also wonder if there's going to be a level of Wicked burnout after the first film. They've been promoting this pretty hard for months now (including Cynthia and Ariana attending events in clothes that resemble costumes), and there's still 2.5+ months to go until release, AND THEN a year until the second film. Anecdotally, people were tired of the Barbie campaign by the time it opened and more so by the time the Oscars rolled around. This will be way longer than that.
