That's not "The Wall." That is the exterior facade of the theatre. The Wall is in the alley behind the theatre. This misconception is exactly why uninformed "fans" think it's appropriate to vandalize the theatre with their obnoxious graffiti. It's a Broadway theatre, not a bathroom stall.

So, Skittles, you're saying that the wall behind the alley is officially called "The Wall?" Interesting...
I did not write on that thing I posted a picture of-(since apparently you don't like what I call it). I don't think it's appropriate to do but I also don't understand why it's a big deal as to what I call it.
Personally, I don't think the name of 'it' has anything to do with people vandalizing it.

It is not frowned upon to write on "The Wall" behind the theater. So if people think that "The Wall" is the front of the theater instead, then they think it is ok to scribble all over it. Not a big deal, but it could confuse a newer fan that does not know.

i couldn't either. So i copied the addresses and opened them in other windows. Most times peoples pics don't post on here, so I just got used to doing it this way.

Exactly, Tink, that was my point. If people think the exterior of the theatre is called "The Wall", they will continue to write all over it without knowing any better. I just wanted to reiterate it in case someone else happened to be reading a Rent thread for the first time and didn't know the difference. SweetQ, it's not all about you.

SweetQ- I was at the matinee today! Didn't stay at the stage door though.. I was in the rear mezzanine, and by the time I got out, the crowd was too much for me and my sister to handle (even though it wasn't as big as it could have been).
Overall, the performance was good. I wasn't too fond of Maureen's Over the Moon. She's good, but I felt like she rushed through it too much. Troy was an okay Collins. I had seen Rent back in '05 and forget who I saw, but whoever I saw was MUCH better than Troy. Justin was just ehh, had some good parts, but I think there needs to be another Angel. Saw Merle as Joanne for the second time and loved her again! Tamayra was a good Mimi, her Without You and Goodbye Love being her best numbers. Adam & Anthony... they were amazing. I loved Adam's little "I'm Roger" dance in Light My Candle, and just hearing Anthony sing La Vie Boheme was great.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and I have never seen the Nederlander so packed with people with such excitement for the show! :)

saw them both this afternoon.. they blew my mind. they haven't aged a day first of all, and i truly believe even after all these years, they've still got it. the vocals were top-notch, and the harmonies were perfect. theire chemistry was better than ever (and rightfully so, after all these years so friendship!) i could just feel like energy and passion pouring out of them. it was so much better for me this time, i saw it for the first time many years ago when i didn't exactly know the OBC cover to cover, and now that i am so familiar i could appreciate the show so much more and things that had never clicked before now did. a great experience, it was wonderful. i lovedddd it! oh and serious props to the rest of the cast, they were great! merle dandridge was a perfect fit for joanne, she even gave the character new perspective and i really enjoyed he portrayal justin johnson was angel in the flesh!! there are no words, he was perfect, absolutely, my favorite angel that i've seen! tamyra grey! i've got to say i was skeptical about her at first, but she really impressed me, she did a beautiful job, and she and adam meshed well together, making all their interaction even more believeable. and she moves so well, just her body language is great, plus her stage presence is superb! and the guy who played collins, so help me i can't remember his name blew me away. his voice was outstanding and his emotion was flawless. i loved his attention to detail in the character, it definitely gave him something extra. i loved the acting that maureen had, but her voice was a bit harsh at times, and the way she pronounced some of her vowels really bugged me, as well as her dypthongs. but again, her acting was excellent.
and i asked anthony if it was at all weird coming back, he told me not at all, but then when i said so it was more like coming home then he said yes that's exactly what it's like. such a good guy. adam didn't come out, and when they told everyone he wasn't and they took down the barricades, i waited and lingered and took pictures with my crowd and then i saw him sneak out the main entrance.. and some girls chased him down the street.. he did a photo with one and then gave some 'tude along the lines of "come on guys, don't chase me out of the theatre" etc. i understand he's got a life.. but if anthony took the time why couldn't he? don't be a diva, we just want to praise you! but i understand he's got a life too, and i always try to put myself in the actor's shoes.. but it's just a little dissappointing. but it's okay because i got to see him as roger! =)
hear my song; it was made for the time when you don't know where to go, listen to the song that i sing, you'll be fine..
I could understand your disappointment but it has been pretty documented so far that he doesn't come out after matinees. He may have been being a "diva" but then again he may have had an interview or something after the show. You never know.

Wait, so the theatre staff announce Adam isn't coming out...so you loiter around the theatre until he does, chase him down the street and then YOU accuse HIM of having the problem? Maybe he has a "'tude" because people like you can't take the hint and leave him alone.

Why does this surprise anyone? Anthony has always been the more fan-friendly Rent cast member between the two of them. I am actually shocked that Adam is diving into the mad house at the evening shows.
Orange skittles, I don't think drama queen was chasing him down the street even though she was disappointed. I think she was just observing the situation.
Glad you enjoyed the show Drama Queen. Seeing Adam onstage was better than anything you could have experienced at the stage door.
ETA - Motor Tink - I am sure that updating the playbill is the least of their worries right now!
Goofy, I'll just let that comment slide right off my back.

It still applies, even if she wasn't actively chasing. Other girls waited around the theatre, other girls chased him down the street, and as a result of their behavior, he had an attitude with the other girls. If they're going to act like that, they deserve the attitude.

I was at the show again tonight. I'm tempted to say that their performances get better every time, but the emotional impact becomes less after seeing so many times within a couple of weeks, so it's hard for me to tell.
I have to say for as much as I'm ambivalent toward Troy Horne, it amazes me that he can just turn on the waterworks like that performance after performance. Not that sobbing hysterically during the I'll Cover You reprise is enough to make up for apparent his lack of genuine emotion for the rest of the show, but I always find myself wondering where that comes from.
As for Adam, I almost feel like it would be less of a headache for him to just sign a few autographs even on the days when he doesn't feel up to it rather than try to clandestinely sneak out of the theatre. I'm sure it would disappoint a lot less people in the process, too. That said, I'll never understand people who hunt down performers after it's been made clear that they don't want to deal with you on a particular day. Whatever their motivation is for avoiding fans at that moment in time, wouldn't you feel as if you're imposing yourself on them when they clearly don't want to sign autographs or pose for pictures? Seems like a social situation I'd personally want to avoid, even if that meant not getting an autograph or a picture.
No need to go into attack mode Orange Skittles. Relax.
I completely agree Siamese. It seems like many fans are ruining a perfectly wonderful experience by expectations that clearly can't be met. Even Anthony ,who comes out and signs most of the time, can't spend alot of time talking with each individual fan.
How many times have you seen the show since A&A returned, Siamese?
