3 days! (I'm sure I'm getting annoying with my countdown. But I'm so excited.)

Adam looks gorgeous. I love the "run for your lives" shirt - very apropos, hehe.
That other body guard is definitely not up to par with Angel (that's his name, I think, lol)
I agree about the vandalism to the theater - the outside of the Nederlander is NOT the special "Rent wall" that's backstage/in the alley. Stop trying to be cool and make your own wall, people, it's tacky!

But, there were two people, besides Adam and Anthony that caused this performance to be excellent instead of good (definitely the best Rent cast I've seen). The first one is no surprise, Merle Dandridge. I've seen her once before and loved her then and I definitely love her now. Even if Nicolette Hart is not as good as we wished when she is there with Merle it really doesn't matter because Merle is just that good of a Joanne. Even though Natalie Venetia Belcon will always be my favorite Joanne Merle is a very close second. I think that Nicolette is still trying to find her Maureen. I say this because the first I saw her she sped through "Over The Moon," but it was funny. This time she took more time with the number, but was just boring. Oh and her voice does not annoy me and it blends nicely with Merle who over powers her anyway in "Take Me or Leave Me."
The second actor who made last night's performance so memorable was Marcus Paul James who was on for Collins. When I found out he was on tonight I was really looking forward to not seeing Troy Horne and I was not disappointed. He is hands down the best Collins I have ever seen. His chemistry with everyone makes all the relationships in the show more believable. And although he couldn't stop Justin Johnston from doing his regular shtick there were times where he made me feel that Justin's brazen cry for a laugh was actually cute. So, overall his acting was just outstanding and his singing was very passionate (the best "I'll Cover You, reprise").
Everybody should be going to see this and pray for Marcus Paul James to be on as Collins.

I really don't have much more to add to what's already been said. I was very impressed with Adam's singing & acting, and his buff bod.
I also enjoyed the rest of the cast, with the exception of Troy Horne as Collins. He just didn't gel with the rest of the cast, and seemed young for Collins. Tamyra is a very good Mimi. Her "Out Tonight" wasn't my favorite, but she turned in one of the most emotional second acts I've seen. her "Without You" and "Goodbye Love" were both excellent. Merle Dandridge rocks as Joanne, and Nicolette Hart is a goofy but loveable Maureen. And, not to leave anyone out, I always love Justin Johnston's Angel and D'Monroe's Benny. The cast as a whole is in very good shape.
I agree with everyone on the defacing of the theater though - it has nothing to do with the spirit of RENT. I wish the staff would put a stop to it, but unfortunately I doubt that the producers would invest in the green paint to cover it at this point.

Even though Troy didn't thrill me this past Tues, I was happy to see him and Adam pick up the Roger/Collins friendship a bit more.

I don't really like Justin Johnston. I hope we get an understudy for him. Or maybe if we get Marcus he can bring Justin up to his level.

Best part though, after the lotto winners were called, they announced that only standing room tickets for $20 were available, and to please line up at the box office window to purchase. There was a rush forward. The Nederlander employees backtracked and said "OK we are going to lotto off the standing room tickets." Ha.
I will admit to being shocked about the demand. I knew A & A would sell tickets, I just didn't think THIS many tickets.

I am a huge Marcus fan, but wishing for Troy to be sick IS just wrong! I do admit wishing I had tickets to the show this week instead of last week. Actually Troy is a strong Collins in my opinion, and he has some of the sweetness that Marcus usually has in his Collins.
Wow... Orange Skittles we actually agree on something -- the fact that Marcus is fantastic!
