Hey Anthony, any pratical jokers on the set causing mischief?
*cheers for principle filming starting*
1. Ted Allen: Everyone has an interesting life if you ask the right questions.
2. Great buckets of Spoffnor, they're going to sing!
3. "I love shrubs that are historical." -Johnny and The Sprites
4. "We're not singing it to you, we're singing it for us." -Rosario Dawson, about La Vie Boheme
5. "The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours." -The History Boys
6. "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do. Take it, feel it and pass it on. Not for me, not for you, but for someone, somewhere, one day. Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on." -The History Boys
Yea, we're sorry to hear that you'll be relocating to the Rent website that'll be up soon. Sad times. But that's ok coz I'm sure most of us here will relocate with u. In the meantime, what are the differences you find between shooting the Rent movie and the actual stage production?
Sorry I'm coming into this one a little late, but my school just closed "A Chorus Line" we had to fight like hell to get to do it in the first place, and we had to censor it senseless. Closing night during "Dance 10; Looks 3" which we had to change to "This and That", Our Val said "Tits and Ass" on the very last one and the administration flipped...a bitch...now we're not allowed to do contemporary musicals anymore. Our school is probably one of the most conservative in the nation though, we have maybe 25-30 students who are minorities, out of a school of 1600, and the vast majority of the school is upper-middle class. Whatever, we'll have a *grand* time doing Oklahoma! and My Fair Lady next year...gag me.
But we didn't have any coffee filters...so I used all we had which was...toilet paper...and we didn't have any coffee grinds so I used..peanut butter..and I found that...all you get is scalding hot peanut...water... <---Why should you always memorize your monologues? Oh yes...there was that one Chorus Line audition...
Sorry if this has already been posted, but if it hasn't I think that you guys will be pretty excited. Go to http://s5.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=17318891X8IP22IU286I3H9AU9 There is a clip (very bad quality) of Rosario singing some of 'Without You'. Wow. Rosario is... wow. I think that, dispite the horrible recording quality, her 'Without You' is one of the most beautiful things I have ever hear. She's that awesome. If you download it, listen to the entire thing because the quality gets better as the clip progresses. Also, after Rosario, you can Anthony getting his 'What You Own' on (it's amazing). I think that this was recorded by a fan on the set, or something. Enjoy it. Oh, and credit to Neil Bunnington. If you have anything to share about this, Anthony, please do.
Rosario sounds so beautiful! I'm so happy that they chose her to play Mimi and I can certainly see why. And Anthony sounds really good doing What You Own! Hooray!
I wanted to get something that an "ex"-junkie like him would really appreciate and cherish....it's a brick of heroin shaped like a heart.

I have been reading this thread from the beginning (practically), but this is my first post. I just though some of the Idina fans might be interested in this and I didn't know where else to put it: http://www.webspawner.com/users/starbuckqaf/meetingidina.html
She looks sooooo gorgeous (she isn't in costume).
Anyway, thanks so much Anthony, for posting! I am a big fan.
A question for anyone: Who figured out that Whiteboy Spice= Anthony? And how did they figure this out? Same with Joanne1. Thanks.
"Blow out the candles, Robert, and make a wish. Want something. Want something."
I think Anthony signed his first post, when he joined us to confirm the casting of the OBC members in the film. Fredi had also signed her posts "FWB," and it kind of became obvious.
Yeah that's what I gathered too about someone asking him during the LSoH tour. I was a bit curious about that when I first joined as well. :-P
And I just listened to that clip again and maybe it's just me but the instrumentals for What You Own sound alot stronger. I really liked it, whatever they did.

Yeah that's what I thought. It was definitly more powerful. I don't remember when it was said, but I agree in that these new versions of the songs are going to kick the living **** out of the old ones! :-P I didn't think it was possible to get better then the OBC versions but I will now be the first to admit how wrong I was.

Thanks, Elphie for posting that site about you meeting Idina! My heart was beating fast just reading about your meeting...I would've been the same way! haha Idina looks so gorgeous in those pictures! I'll be checking out Idina's website frequently to see if any of those pics appear on there..that would be awesome!
Hey Everyone!!! I'm new to the message board, and wanting to say hey to everyone, and to Anthony! I'm a huge fan! Hope the filming of rent is being good to ya... dont work too hard!
I'm going to NYC on a trip in a few days.... we are going on tours, eating at great resturants, and seeing some shows (Brooklyn; Phantom; and of course Rent!)... Is there anything in the city you or anyone recommend we stop by to see?
haha, actually, aliceripleysnumber1, that was my "meeting Idina" story - I think ElphieDefiesGravity just found it and posted it here (thanks by the way!) :) But yeah, it was a really cool meeting, and she was ridiculously sweet.
sorry, I don't post here a lot, but I just happened to see that, so I just thought I'd correct it. I also saw Anthony and Tracie for a second, but both were in and out of their trailers, so my group didn't want to bother them (we bothered Idina enough I think) Hopefully I'll see more of the cast on Saturday when I go to the city again.
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY would you post this???? What, the wait until November 11 isn't tough enough as it is without you posting these TEASES!?!?! You evil, evil person!!!
:)
Excuse me while I go cry like a little girl with a skinned knee at the prospect of having to wait EIGHT MORE MONTHS for this film....
I am so excited that Tracie Thoms is one of my dearest friends and I get to hear all of the Rent goings on first hand.
Tracie is from my hometown and we have been in a million shows together. I am so psyched for her. She deserves all she is getting. She is such a good girl and she has worked so hard!
She will be the best Joanne. Wait til you guys hear Trace sing!
