so Anthony, What did you do today? Have you seen any of the current RENT Marks on Broadway? {I mean, right now there is Drew Lachey... but before him and so on.}
NIL MAGNUM NISI BONUM "No greatness without goodness."
RENThead, enLIGHist, Ozalot, Grobanite, Ringer, Pickwick LW, Wicked, Lost, American Dreams, West Wing
Lea S. Hugh J. Adam P. Idina M. Matt M. Taye D.
Hey Anthony, do you watch American Idol? I swore to myself I never would...but this one guy...looks like you. His name is Anthony too. My friend told me about the resemblence and I saw a trailer during "House" and jumped out of my seat (literally and embarassingly, since I hit a table when I did).
Has anyone else seen this? Tell me I'm not crazy.
1. Ted Allen: Everyone has an interesting life if you ask the right questions.
2. Great buckets of Spoffnor, they're going to sing!
3. "I love shrubs that are historical." -Johnny and The Sprites
4. "We're not singing it to you, we're singing it for us." -Rosario Dawson, about La Vie Boheme
5. "The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - which you had thought special and particular to you. And now, here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out, and taken yours." -The History Boys
6. "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do. Take it, feel it and pass it on. Not for me, not for you, but for someone, somewhere, one day. Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on." -The History Boys
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

There's about two pages of discussion on this topic in this thread...Why don't you read those?
But we didn't have any coffee filters...so I used all we had which was...toilet paper...and we didn't have any coffee grinds so I used..peanut butter..and I found that...all you get is scalding hot peanut...water... <---Why should you always memorize your monologues? Oh yes...there was that one Chorus Line audition...
I'm sorry, i didn't know. *skulks away slowly and hides behind the big RENT book*

Just wanted to say hello and sorry for not posting much. We've had very long (but very fulfilling) days doing the interior scenes of Rent (burning the screenplays and posters) and I've been a little wiped out at the end of work.
I also heard today that there will most likely be a dedicated Rent film website going up in the not-too-distant future, and at that point, I will only be able to post officially on that site. So hopefully you all will move over there with me when the time comes.
Anyway, all continues to go incredibly well. Having made a few films before, I can say I've been really lucky for the most part; the experience of making them has been matched by the way they have turned out, so I have all the confidence in the world that this will measure up the same way. We shall see.
I have to pay special kudos to our cinematographer and crew members here, too. His eye is incredible, and his crew works efficiently and respectfully. The good vibes just continue emanating in all directions...
*does the first reply dance* that sounds great, Anthony! I can't wait! Thanks for updating, we were getting a bit worried. I hope you're having fun, babe!

yay Anthony! we're so darn lucky that you post on this website so we can get the inside scoop from you! I am so thrilled about this, you have no idea. I'm sure it's going to be wonderful and I'm glad the shooting is going very well! Please take care of yourselves and please know that all of us die hard Rent fans are rooting for you guys! Yippee!

Glad to hear that everything in movie-making land is going so well. Am very excited about this new website! But does this mean that the fabled and famed Anthony Rapp thread on BWW will cease to exist and thrive or can you still post here if its not about the movie? Anyways, it's good to hear that everything seems to be going so smoothly, production-wise. Have fun!

Welcome back to the SF/Bay Area! ughh... this weather! Spring spectacular rains and ... definitely not weather for outdoor location shooting. It's supposed to let up ...sometime soon... so maybe we'll be able to visit the shoots soon? Weirdest thing ... knowing how much of a Wizard of Oz fanatic Jonathan was ... there was a tornado here .. this weekend ... very much in the style of "I'm afraid we're not in Kansas anymore.." ... I can't imagine some of you all didn't wonder if it was his way of acknowledging the return of the cast to the SF/Bay Area . . . Very magical, no one was injured or killed, just some property damage, VERY dramatic ... ! Tell us more when you can, and of course we'll follow over to the 'official site' once it's up. Meanwhile, hopefully we can come see you all soon, and help spread more good vibes . . . ~Richard
Yeah, what horrible timing the weather has huh? It was really beautiful in CA for most of the two weeks that you guys were in NY and the minute you get back it starts pouring buckets of rain. I don't know if it's as bad in SF but I hope it lets up soon so you guys can get some warmer, sunnier days.

Yay! Thanks sooo much for the update, Anthony, and I'm glad to hear that everything's going great. Yea, hopefully this ucky weather goes away and we can finally see the sun again. Keep us posted!
Anthony- I just wanted to let you know that, after scouring the city, and finally finding it on Amazon, I got Look Around. I was a little worried, cause...well, I was afraid it would be effected pop vocals. I don't know why, and I don't want to bore anyone with the long, drawn out explanation. Anywho, I was very impressed. I'm glad to know that "broadway folk" still know where their roots are. Thank you, Anthony, for sharing your talent with the masses. And for staying true to yourself through everything. I know many talented people who won't share their talent with the masses, because they don't want to loose who they are. Kudos and wicked e-props to you for doing both. Well, I'm assuming you stayed true to who you were. Silly question: Do you remember the first song you used for an audition? If so, why did you pick that one?
Thanks for the updates. I keep talking to my friends about it, cause I'm uber excited. They don't seem to share my enthusiasm, so I'm sharing it with you. *giggles* The good news is I have one of my friends hooked to reading this thread.
I'm going on forever. I'll stop now, and thanks for reading this far. If you did. If you didn't, I don't blame you.
We're sure going to miss logging on to find your messages here, but you lead, and I'm sure many of us will follow you to this film site, which should be very awesome.
Have fun with the filming, and take advantage of blah weather to sleep. ^^
Adios!

Thanks for the post! I'm sorry to hear that you will have to stop posting here in the future, but I am happy that there will be an official Rent movie site. That makes one more Rent site I'll have to add to my favorites :) I hope the filming in SF continues to go well for you and the rest of the cast and crew!
