Wendy Williams is popular because she was a vicious radio host who did not hide any of the dirty details of the gossip. Her signature "how you doin'?" was her code phrase to out hip-hop stars. So really, like a high class Perez Hilton without the child pornography photos.
She got defanged for her talk show and it still took the better part of a year for agents to book bigger celebrities on her show. She would ask the nastiest questions right to the celebrity's face on her radio shows and she had to prove that she wasn't allowed to really dig into, say, the Kardashians on air.
I have a lot of respect for the career she's built for herself but she's at her best when she's being herself.
I actually really like the idea of Darlene Love as Mama- I for one think she would be amazing!
She was stellar in HAIRSPRAY (Even at the Bowl at 70 years old) and still has the voice.
I will stay away from from Chicago as long as Wendy Williams is in it. Can you imagine the kind of crowd she attracts? The place will stink of heated up Slim Jims.

Original statement:
"I will stay away from from Chicago as long as Wendy Williams is in it. Can you imagine the kind of crowd she attracts? The place will stink of heated up Slim Jims and grape soda."
Get new material lovebwy - that's the second time you've made that same crack on this very thread.
Edit: It is a racist statement because you meant for it to be. Your comments on this and other threads have been par-for-the-course elitist and smack of racism. The opinions you express concerning those you perceive as 'below' you in income scale and entertainment tastes are offensive, as you intend for them to be as you are a troll disguised as a theatre fan. The grape soda/slim jim statement is the kind of thing that would have been said in the bad old days when segregation permeated every part of American society. It's 2013 - if you must troll, grow up and start hating on things like messy wigs and bad voices.
"I will stay away from from Chicago as long as Wendy Williams is in it. Can you imagine the kind of crowd she attracts? The place will stink of heated up Slim Jims and grape soda."
Holy SH*T, you're one sick racist piece of trash. You might lovebwy, but BWW despises you.
The place will stink of heated up Slim Jims and grape soda.
YIKES. No wonder he had so many issues on ATC.
You'll recognize lovebwy. He's the one skipping down W45th Street with animated Bluebirds circling his head in his own perfect Broadway world.
I don't get it. She heats up Slim Jims on her show all the time with a lighter. It's one of her funny bits.
I didn't mean anything racist. I just assume most of her audience is somewhat low rent no matter the color.
"The place will stink of heated up Slim Jims and grape soda."
Hey, I never thought of heating Slim Jims. Are they good that way? And how come you mentioned grape soda?
I've never eaten a slim jim in my life, so I don't know if they're good or bad.
What's bad is putting a woman on Broadway who has no place there. Come on. Wendy Williams? That ain't Broadway. Not MY Broadway.
Avoiding the grape soda question, are we?
Love, who are you to say who should and shouldn't be on Broadway. Who died and made you the god of Broadway?
Strangest Morton I ever saw was Jennifer Holiday.
The grape soda bit has been edited out of lovebwy's post. Lol.
I don't pay as much attention to broadway as y'all do, so answer me this: Don't all the long long running hits on broadway start the stunt casting at one point or another? Wendy in Chicago is nothing new nor remarkable.
Oh, we'll then it's a good thing I copied and pasted it into my question before. Lovebwy asked -
"I will stay away from from Chicago as long as Wendy Williams is in it. Can you imagine the kind of crowd she attracts? The place will stink of heated up Slim Jims and grape soda."

I did see her - I was given a house seat even though it was in the back-if she was good I would say so but she wasn't. Broadway isn't a place for people to massage their ego just because they think they should do it. The old saying, Know thy self." She didn't, and she doesn't. Stunt casting has always been on broadway, and I don't think broadway or theater is in jeopardy because of Williams being on the stage. However, being less demanding on a person who steps on the professional stage just because they are attempting to stretch themselves is a pathetic and unreasonable request from an audience. Please applaud and like me, please, please, please, even though I have no talent. Get off the stage Wendy, you are terrible and you will not improve, no matter the length of time you do it.

Thank you, Jane!
Who knew Wendy f*cking Williams would get so many people's feathers ruffled about how Broadway is doomed. Relax, people.
Jennifer Holiday as Morton I could take. She's a trouper. She's paid her dues, BABY.
Again, in my opinion Wendy Williams- that ain't Broadway.
I edited my post because upon further consideration I could see where some might get the wrong idea of what I was trying to say. To those that did I offer my heartfelt apoligies.
Behind, I agree with you one thousand percent.
