If you’re inferring that THE LOST BOYS is going to be a flop even before the first preview, your premise is already on shaky ground.
Even if both shows underperform, I’m sure Arden will remain a hotsought after director for some time."
He does interesting enough work with revivals that were already wanted because of their strong and loved material, had short original runs in previous iteration or have not been produced in years.
We do wonder his touch with a new musical from scratch. As MHE was built, mainly developed & directed many times prior to Arden; does he have the ability on brand new material which completely different in so many ways - directing the writing over years, for one. Many more pieces and time. It's hard to plug and play. From the Boston run, that was not being proven for us and this Broadway run sounds more so. We'd prefer more "it'll be good regardless" revivals from Arden rather than new work.

But many posters have created a "What's next?" thread here for many years. Idon't interact a lot with CoffeeBreak, but it seems their intention was not based in pettiness or nastiness, but rather curiosity and discussion. You are the only poster taking offense."
You were the self-appointed “do we need a new thread for this” chief of police on here, just a couple of months ago. What are you even talking about? 🙄

Evita, probably. And for anyone saying they won’t shut down a NYC street to accommodate onlookers… it likely depends on the ticket price, which I imagine will be astronomical in comparison to Nicole’s Sunset."
aren't they holding off on EVITA until next season because of CATS being official for this current season?"
There are a multitude of factors, but the biggest issue remains the theatre itself. I would say preventing competition ranks as a very close second though. But I honestly think they should restage the outside portion of the show since I really don’t think it’s safe this day and age in the U.S.

The previous versions of this thread were taken down by mods. This one stuck eventually - prior to QOV closing, even though it was obvious it wouldn't last.

Galileo? Jordan Roth is lead producer of that show and he certainly has pull at ATG.

Word is PURPLE RAIN still has the Majestic booked and planning to come over in the spring still. There really hasn't been anything (new) in development that would slide into the St. James for the Spring.

I haven't heard much about Galileo - is it ready to come into a big theater like the St. James? Jordan Roth picks great musicals

Hearing Titanique is making a play for both the St James and the Majestic. Thoughts?

Is this a joke? Or do the creatives really think they have a shot at a long run now after the off-off? Broadway reviews

As one of Titanique’s biggest supporters, its NYC run was running out of steam. They were smart to close when they did. Moving to Broadway when there are runs of it all over the world would be really ill advised. People have seen it already, they’re not going to pay Broadway prices to see something again.

That’s too big for them, I heard. Hoping for a mid-size house.

It had a very respectable off-Broadway run.
I recall there being rumors of them looking at Broadway a couple seasons ago. But putting that show in houses like the St.James or Majestic would be insane. It’s a small show, by design and intent.

Jordan doesn't really have a say anymore (and honestly he doesn't give a flying f*ck). He's moved on to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion wanna be ICON. The ATG Team calls the shots.

And also an “actor.” He’s cast in the new Ryan Murphy show. 🙄

This is the first time I've ever heard someone mention Titanique coming to broadway instead of just leaving it for its off-Broadway run. I don't think they'd do this even for a short run

I'm pretty sure Titanique didn't recoup Off-Broadway in its 2-3 year run. There's no way it's transferring to Broadway.

Do we still think it could be Evita or has that been squashed since CATS is coming in and ALW doesn't want two of his shows competing against each other?

Mentioning again that Rachel is doing the The Last Five Years in London in March at a time she would need to be in NYC rehearsing to do Evita if it was coming in next April.
Unless they can find a teleporter to get her back and forth between London and NYC while shes rehearsing then performing The Last Five Years i dont see how Evita comes in this season.

I guess it depends if her contract for Last Five Years is get-out-able. Its only a very short run, compared to the opportunity Evita would provide
