The music is these shows are just amazing. Rent can't get old because thier is so much discovery, Piazza is too beautiful to get tired of, Songs for a new world is just some crazy greata music.
"You gotta be original, because if you're like someone else, what do they need you for?" -Bernadette Peters
SUPPORT ALL SHOOK UP!!!
Mine would have to be the Original London Cast of Chicago. I've playing this CD at least once a week for the past 7 years.
In my heart, I found the answered dream,
and in my soul I found the song, and in my friends
I found the magic, the love,
the moon up above- they were mine, all mine, all along..!
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps...
What did she realize, Kitten?
That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had...
Where?
On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.
For me, and I'm not going to list anything from this year, as they're too new to have longevity yet, I'd say: Pippin (its stagings rarely work, but the score is terrific) La Cage Aux Folles Rent
"And the postman sighed as he scratched his head, you really rather thought she ought to be dead..."
See I can't stand the recording of Pippin. I was they would come out with a revival just so they can get a recording up to contemporary standards.
Ben Vereen is perfect at what he does but for some reason John Rubenstein (I apologize for butchering the name) just grates on my nerves and it is difficult to really listen to the CD with that problem.
BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"
The producers but i really can't listen to it anymore cause thats what i was listening to on september 11th and i don't know why but it just brings back the memories of that day when i listen to it.
My hairspray cd i love that too.
Of course Wicked but im kind of getting tired of it i played it out to much
Save him please, just save him
My poor Boq, my sweet, my brave him
Don't leave me till my sorry life has scene
Alone and loveless here, just the girl in the mirror
Just her and me, the Wicked Witch of the East
The Phantom of the Opera!!!!!!!!!! I've been listening to it almost everyday for more than a year!!!
Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky. With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high! Blood-red were the spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat, when they shot him down on the highway, down like a dog on the highway, and he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat...
(The Highwayman. Sung by: Loreena McKennitt)
Parade and Ragtime rarely get old to me, but I started to burn out on them a few years ago and learned to moderate my listening a little more. Floyd Collins never gets old to me, but the yodeling drives my wife crazy.
