I agree that PRISCILLA's grosses have risen for the last two weeks. While it isn't selling out I'd say it will be around for quite sometime. Wherever it has played it rarely sells out but has a history of good houses. It always seems to find its audience.
World crises... sad...
Which is virtually what I said back on page 3 of this thread whitesnow, and that was back in May.
I am so confused. Nothing has risen. They are playing to half empty houses and at discount prices.
It doesn't matter how many tickets they sold, they still made more money than last week.
I'm from middle america and loved the show! LOL

I never heard of a show called PRISCILLA. Oh, I guess you mean PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT ...
Funny....everyone else knew the point of this thread.
Imagine Mr. Wonderful's reaction were we discussing MARAT/SADE.
Mr. Wonderful dropped by on two threads today. Both of them basically bashing the abbreviation of a show title. This one and once for "CMIYC".
Nice to be prodcutive in life.
I checked his profile. That is all he seems to do.

No, they meant the other Priscilla playing Broadway. Sorry you're the only one confused by this. Perhaps you should change your user name to Erroneous.
"Second time around..."
Glad to see it take a leap this week. Maybe the Bette Midler name in the ads is helping?

I don't know why they didn't use Bette Midler's name in the advertising when it opened.
We saw it yesterday & throughly enjoyed it.
It is a fun show & very well done from costumes to sets & that magical bus. There were latecomers & they got a little sarcasm (well deserved) from the actor playing Miss Understanding
This may be a case of higher prices & theatergoers picking & choosing as they can't see everything. Sister Act should be doing much better & Catch me should have made it. Maybe Whoopi could go into the show to bring up the box office at some point.

Don't mean to bump an old topic, but read this NY Times ArtsBeat article. Apparently business is getting better for Priscilla...

Cool. I took a peak in there today and the upstairs was empty. But it is winter. Still.. I don't know why TheatreFan4 was so bitter about its chances of running or us talking about it.
46.0%. It has lasted much longer than I ever anticipated. But someone involved must have deep pockets.
They finally put the show on TDF, so at least their reaching out. I saw it front row, so I don't think I could see it from any other seat. I loved it though.

I enjoyed Priscilla Queen of the Desert and I wish the cast all the best and Happy Trails!
It will be interesting to see if the tour just uses the same physical production.

The Cats thread made me think of this.
