What would the address for Ground Zero be for use on hopspot?
You can not be serious. You need the address for Ground Zero, to plug it into hopstop.com. Seriously?
(ok, deep breath, being helpful-) Take the E train south. As far south as it goes. The last stop on the E train is the site of the former World Trade Center.

Okay. Thanks. I think it will be possible!

punch in world trade center. it will give you the stop.
A visit to New York isn't complete unless you go to Nathan's on 44th and 8th Avenue and have one of their world famous hot dogs. For dinner in Times Square, there are plenty of places to go, but avoid Lindy's. It's overpriced and terrible. Too bad Barrymore's isn't open anymore.
We'll leave our hotel at about 7 and get to Ground Zero, hopefully, by 7:45 or 8. We'll leave Ground Zero about 8:45 or 9, getting to SoHo for breakfast around 9:30. Which gives us from about 10 until 12 or 12:30 to walk around SoHo/ NYU. Then, lunch at Pomodoro at 12:30. Then, at 1 or so, we'll take the subway to Rockefeller Plaza.
I'll make the reservations for the NBC tour for 3.
The tour lasts 70 minutes. That would get us out of there at around 4:30. Then, we'd walk around Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Then, off to dinner at Joe Allen's with reservations at 6.
Then, GREY GARDENS.
Sound possible?

Extremely possible. Very good itinerary. And you'll stay busy.
YAY! A COMPLIMENT!
going to Joe Allens is always better AFTER the show! More fun, buzz, celebs (often)..
IMHO, I don't really know why "WTC" cemetary is a tourist destination. I've lived here forever, and never want to see that. but that's just me. I think it's a waste of valuable tourist time. Like I said: IMHO.
Don't try to do TOO much. What you want to do is walk around specific neighborhoods, stop for a drink outside, chat with the locals, etc. You'll get more of the "flavor"
I don't think my parents are into eleven o'clock dinners.
Okay... BTW nobody mentioned going to the upper west side, ZABAR's and Fairway, to be exact. A REAL NY experience, an institution, a NY DELI unparalled for more than 5 decades. You absolutely must have a bagel/nova/cream cheese there, then you
become "initiated". These places are FANTASTIC!! and 2 city blocks long. The people watching is amazing, and the quantity and quality of goods is not to be believed. If your'e a "foodie", don't miss. (I'm a native)

The last itenerary sounds perfect.... and always remember this.
I have been to NY about 40 times in my life and I have still not done it all.. hard to do. and if you work and live there.. sometimes even harder. remember when I told you that you can ask directions in so ho to something in the city and people do not know. tourist travel around more than people that live there.
you will have a blast and I am so veryvery jealous.
Haha! Thanks!
I agree about going to the Radio City Music Hall tour. It is literally amazing to see and you will have a ton of fun.
Yeah, I don't know. I think we're going to go with the NBC studio tour.
So, how close is Joe Allen's to Rockefeller Center (walking distance?)?
What is your definition of walking distance?
I walk all the time ~ to and from school is 4 Brooklyn blocks each way. Do that 5 times a week. It's nothing for me to walk from Chelsea to Times Square and above ~ hence for me not finding SoHo to Rockefeller Center a problem.
So different people have different ideas of what's "walking distance" ~ what may be to one person may not be to another. Do you mean a couple of blocks? No more than ten? What is "too far" for you?
No, more than 10. Say fifteen minutes?
I'm still not liking the reviews for Joe Allen, but I think we'll try it.

I would advise you to edit WTC and do something else.
Maybe because I live in NY, but I don't see a large hole where thousands died to be interesting.
My parents are really interested in seeing it. They are older CNN watching types, and they're payin'!
Fair enough. I don't know what reviews you read for Joe Allen, but I go there constantly. It's a neat place.
Okay, I trust you about Joe Allen.

You are taking a subway to go from 57th St. to 45th St. ? You will get there faster by walking. Also, does the A train go to WTC ? I thought it's only E train that stops there.
I don't know if we are going to walk or take the subway to Times Square from the hotel, siny. Do you think we should walk?

Also, I am trying to think if there is any place to sit down in Times Square to eat your hot dog. I can't think of any.
