why the f#$% wasn't linda balgord nominated? i a seriously f$#@ing pissed, she is sooo ridiculously good as queen elizabeth 1

She has a rather small part compared to most of the nominees. It would've been better for her to be in Supporting.
Though, are you really suprised she wasn't nominated? I don't think really anyone predicted her at all.
I think Lea would've been a lock as Featured. As Leading, not so much.
Considering that Kristin Chenoweth, who was widely regarded as a lock for a nomination, failed to get nominated why would you be so shocked that Lea Michele wasn't?

I thought Lea Michelle schmacted her way through the show.
She was overly melodramatic - and the material is already melo-dramatic.
She's pretty though, and has a nice voice.
No Tony nom, though. Leading or supporting.
its over. get over it.

I think 'schmacted' is going to be my new word today, love it!
why the f#$% wasn't heather laws nominated? i a seriously f$#@ing pissed, she is sooo ridiculously good as amy

^_^
Yeah, I'm going to use schmacted in my class tonight!
My thoughts are
A. Michele was not nominated because she did not deserve it.
B. Groff did not either.
C. She has an incredible voice. She will continue to develope and her time will come.
Her category was packed with powerhouse performances. She's not that good. Fine, but not brilliant, and absolutely not Tony-worthy. The end.

shes not the best actress. charlotte IMO deserves the tony- she puts so much emotion into the role- she's very believable. lea is okay- like others have said she schmacted the role. not tony material.
... Lea and Charlotte wouldn't have even been in the same category.
Lea, is good, not Tony worthy IMO though.

as much as I liked the show, and thought the ensemble was great, the only truly standout performance was by John Gallagher Jr. they should have an award for Best Ensemble, methinks.

She certainly has a larger and more worthwhile part than Debra Monk in CURTAINS. I'm tired of people saying that Lea Michele should have been kept in the Featured category, because the fact of the matter is, she is the female lead in SPRING AWAKENING and it would not have made sense to put the female lead in the Featured category.
But, as everyone has said, it's set and done now. I agree with Weez, and am sad that the Featured Actress in a Musical category is so miserably mediocre when we had four actresses giving stand-out, complex performances in COMPANY who all could have been placed in that category alongside Mary Louise Wilson. But it didn't happen. And it sucks. But, life will go on.
I think Lea is an amazing performer and is so talented. Her performance in the show is stunning. Plus she's always been the nicest person to me and I truly look up to her. That being said, I am not surprised that she wasn't nominated. I think she deserved it, but the Leading Actress category this season is so crowded with tons of Broadway veterans. I know that Lea's turn will eventually come and that we'll be seeing a lot of her for years to come.
I didn't like Lea's performance that much. The category was crowded anyway, so I'm not surprised.
I'd also like to know why no one from Company was nominated for best featured actress, but oh well.
"its over. get over it."
You wouldn't have been saying the same thing if Ms. Bundy was not recognized.
I knew she was not going to be nominated but. she is very young and has time to develop as a performer. Lea is a lead in Spring Awakening and is by no means has a "small" part as some have said. She did not have to carry the whole show like other ladies have had to do this season. I think it was quite sad she did not get nominated even though I knew it was going to happen. She has been with the show seven years and deserved recognition.
i agree with the fact that its a shame that she didnt get recognized for her 7 years of work, but she was not a stand out preformer this season, the best part of SA is with out a doubt the ensemble, if there was an award for emsemble, SA would be a lock

They wouldn't "put her" in the Featured category, she WAS in the Featured category. If she were the unquestionable lead, they wouldn't have had to petition the committee to have her considered for lead actress in the first place.
And also, while Michele is the lead in SA, she is still the lead in an ensemble piece, and is not a lead in the sense of Ebersole, McDonald, LBB, etc.
Eh, I wasn't surprised that she didn't get a nom, featured or otherwise. I don't even think it matters, since Christine Ebersole is going to win anyway.
A lot of times it's not about a win. It is truly an honor to be nominated in the theater community.
