Brigadoon, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Kiss me Kate.

Id like to see Bart direct Funny Girl and Carousel there. He's already doing My Fair Lady at a Nederlander theatre soon

Carousel, but with most of the lyric opera cast except the opera singer lady.

Another vote for BRIGADOON. If anyone can make that 1940's show pop for a twenty-first century audience, the LCT team can.

Given that CAROUSEL is basically the show that put LCT on the map as a producer of musicals with that gorgeous production back in '94, it seems REALLY doubtful they'll take another go at it anytime soon.

"Something that hasn't been done in at least 20 years...not something we all saw new or revived 5 or 10 years ago."

Nothing is coming to mind right now that wasn't on Broadway recently or wasn't staged in one way or another. You also have to consider the stage and the theatre as I'm assuming you mean the Vivian Beaumont. I love Show Boat but after the sail drops in The King and I, I don't think having that big ship on stage is a very effective use of space. I'd like to see Ragtime but I don't think it would work in that theatre. Same for My Fair Lady. I don't know why but I think Camelot would be dull in that theatre.

What about Once Upon a Mattress?

Perhaps THE SECRET GARDEN? True, it's not a Golden Age show, but it seems like something they'd want to get their hands on if they couldn't produce something like CAROUSEL, MY FAIR LADY, etc.

Camelot, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, and Funny Girl are great choices, as well as something more recent like The Secret Garden or Grand Hotel. Of course, a gorgeous new original musical would be great as well!

The Secret Garden would be beautiful.

Parade - even though they had the original, it's been over 15 years.

Ragtime. They could do a wonderful and successful production of Ragtime with the right cast.

I would love for them to bring back Hytner's CAROUSEL.  It is one of those productions that has entered the status of being "legendary" and I think others might be fearful to revive the show because no one wants their production to be compared to Hytner's. It was absolute perfection!   It's been over 20 years now and people still talk about it. And then they could air it on PBS's Live From Lincoln Center like they did with SOUTH PACIFIC and are supposedly going to do with KING AND I when Ken returns to the show.

As I was reading through these suggestions, I thought, "It's way too soon for Forum. Camelot is perfect!" Then I saw that the last revivals were only three years apart which blew my mind.

I'd be thrilled to see either.

One show I'm curious about is Kismet. I know almost nothing about it, other than that it's huge, it won the Tony, and it hasn't been revived on Broadway. Anyone have thoughts on it?

STREET SCENE

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. Lots of love for The Secret Garden. I don't know if it would be as much of a hit as the last few revivals have been. Have there been any updates on the casting for the Avery Fisher Hall concert version?
