Lena Hall
Alan Cumming
Raul Esparza
Kevin Cahoon (who I have a sneaking suspicion will headline the tour)
Hmm... the more I think about Jack Black, the more I like it.
I have no idea if he sings, but for his acting chops alone, I'd love to see the English actor Toby Kebbell!

I know this is a really random thread bump haha, but:
I happened to come across a youtube video yesterday of Darren Criss talking with the Speech and Debate cast after their BroadwayCon panel, and Austin McKenzie mentioned that he would like to play Hedwig, and now I can't stop thinking about how fantastic he could be as Hedwig!
I'd give it a few years since he still looks like a baby, but if there is still some production of the show going on in maybe 5-10 years, I'd absolutely love to see him take on the role :)

Lucas Steele. Saw him last weekend do an amazing version of 'Midnight Radio'. Check it out.

i was there too and went into this thread just to post a link to the video.
I love Lucas Steele, and I endorse anything which will lead him in a latex underwear. Goddamn those thighs... :|
PS - he'd be SUCH a fabulous Hans in Frozen.
The top of my wish list is Jake Shears and Nick Jonas.

I will literally listen to Austin P McKenzie sing anything.
And I love Lucas Steele's rendition so much. But is he singing it in a different key?
Michael Wartella. In a heartbeat.

I loved Lucas Steele's version. Midnight Radio, for me, is the most meaningful song in Hedwig, and ties it all together. Therefore, I loved Steele's over the top histrionics. He felt what he was singing. Bravo!
p.s. Wartella would be great!

Yikes. That was painful to listen to. Way out of his comfortable key and the 'acting' of the song bordered on pure schmaltz.

I'm sure I'll be in the minority, but that sounded awful to me. Too high and screechy. Also, just a nit-pick but he screwed up the lyrics.
I enjoyed it. Of course, I cried every night when Michael Cerveris sang it (I liked his even better than JCM's!) But Steele gave it a whole new interpretation. I don't care where it was on his vocal range. The way he felt about the song is the way I feel about it.

If you didn't like Steele, you probably won't like Cerveris either. He feels it.And it is LOADED WITH HISTRIONICS!!!!!!
Two words: MICHAEL CERVERIS!!!

Oh I don't know. That was actually painful for me to watch and listen to. I like Lucas Steele but I wouldn't want to see him in the Hedwig role. Not unless he brought the key down... way down...
I still maintain that Jonathan Groff would have been a great Hedwig. I'd love to hear him cover Midnight Radio or The Origin of Love. maybe we'll get that one day..... sigh...
I don't think that performance was anything like Michael Cerveris'. I always loved how he would sing the verse... Here's to Patti and Tina, Yoko, Aretha, and ME and hammer home the "ME" part. Loved that.
I like the Jonathan Groff idea.

Neither do it, except for the emoting.
Jake Emmerling
I would also kill for Jonathan Groff to be Hedwig.
