Ditto. Shame about Indecent though- that looks rough.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
I think the real story of this week is that Bandon Urie was able to pull in an additional $300k for Kinky Boots putting them at 90% of gross potential.
It's also a shame about Sweat. And I wonder if Six Degrees will finish its run. It has a big cast and I can't imagine the leads are making Equity minimum.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
Holiday weekend. We'll see who has staying power after the Tonys. And yes, good boost for KB. But gross potential doesn't matter. It's the gross that matters.

That's Brendon Urie and that was accomplished with only 4 performances this week. Let's see if this is sustainable.

Sorry, my mistake. It's actually 5 performances. One on Friday and two each on Saturday and Sunday. They had a Sunday evening performance due to the Memorial Day weekend.
For a show that lost Best Musical, it's interesting to see that Beautiful is still able to make a decent amount of money week in and week out. Considering I had never really heard of the show until I really became a much bigger theatre fan, it's crazy that this show still has a consistent audience three years later.

Those numbers are killer.

They've been really pushing Betsy in all their ads that I see online. I think I've see more ads announcing her as sara's replacement than ads that publicize sara in the show. I wonder how much they expect her to bring in.

this is great for ANDY KARL and his campaign... wow!!! Is it officially a "hit"?
"
Do you know what Profit is? We can't infer it from this information. But I'd still guess that War Paint is more profitable. Both this week and certainly across the entire run.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

With summer grosses and more, looks like Urie is saving Kinky Boots just as Lola and Charlie saved Price and Sons. Of course he'll be gone in August, but maybe the show could keep kicking into 2018.
