I'm sure she'll get off with a slap on the wrist because white girl.

Well, if it were a White attack on a person of color, sure....but it's not. And the victim is elderly. (I'm sure she won't get the maximum, but still....)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Not only did she push this woman down and kill her, she apparently stood by afterwards and watched Gustern get loaded into an ambulance. And then spent the next two weeks scrubbing her social media, quitting her job, and hiding her cellphone at her aunties. When police showed up at her house, her father refused to let them in.
Oh, and she's a daughter of privilege. Apparently, she is--get this--a cesspool heiress.

“Throw the note over your shoulder!” Debbie Harry, Kathleen Hanna, Justin Vivian Bond and other singers recall Barbara Gustern, a beloved vocal coach who was killed last month at age 87.
"Lauren Pazienza, who deliberately and randomly shoved 87-year-old Broadway vocal coach Barbara Gustern to the ground on a Manhattan sidewalk in 2022 causing the elderly woman’s death, changed her plea from not guilty to guilty and will be sentenced to eight years in state prison.
The plea deal was announced today by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr."

That is disgusting and most likely true. She never should have been offered a plea deal. What she did is so cruel and vile. Unbelievable. She can easily do something like this again if she did it with such callousness before.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
I’m going to come at this from the opposite angle and say that even if she only serves 2-3 years that is a very substantial stain on a life. The best we can hope for at this point is that it leaves an imprint and she is rehabilitated.

I'm hoping for that as well.
The United States has the largest prison population in the world, both in gross numbers and per capita. As long as that's the case, I will never complain about someone being given too lenient a sentence. Let's root for rehabilitation.

Im not quite sure why she was offered a plea deal. There was very substantial evidence of her actions in the commission of this crime.
Its quite dispiriting that will most likely only do only2-3 yrs which seems like an insubtantial of time for causing the death of another
Lauren crossed the street she was walking on, screamed at Barbara, knocked her down, and walked away. She then took the subway back to her Queens apartment with her fiancé roughly 20 minutes after the incident. She deleted her social media accounts, took down her wedding website, and later went to Long Island to stay with family, all to avoid any kind of prosecution.

We should never look the other way when people commit crimes, especially violent crimes, just because we don't like what having a lot people in prison says about us.

In agreement with these two posts. It may be an unpopular opinion, but expecting and wanting people to get life sentences is so gross. People deserve the chance to better themselves, but in our current system prisoners often become repeat offenders because we don’t allow them to.

Our prisons have all to do with punishment, little to do with rehabilitation. (Yes, punishment IS, and should be, part of the consequences.)

Yeah, and I'm sure you would feel the same way if it had been your mother or grandmother or spouse who had been brutally murdered by a random psycho.
If they were, truly, a psycho I would hope they would get psychiatric care, not be locked up in a prison where their mental state would only decline.

This animal IS a psycho. She deliberately approached a defenseless senior citizen for no reason and then verbally and brutally physically attacked her by shoving her to the ground from behind - causing her death.
She then stood there for 20 minutes and watched as the ambulance arrived to take the victim to the hospital. scrubbed her online presence, quit her job, dumped her cell phone at her aunt's house, high-tailed it to Long Island, and hid in her parent's home - all to avoid arrest.
When she was released on bail, her attorney stated that she was relieved to be released and that she and her family would have her victim's family in their thoughts and prayers on the day of her victim's funeral.
Well, guess what? If she hadn't attacked her victim in the first place there wouldn't be the need to have a family to keep in their "thoughts and prayers" and there would be no funeral! The fvcking gall
This is NOT normal behavior! So fitting that her family deals with sewers because they are all pieces of excrement.
Fvck her, her family, and her fvcking rehabilitation.
