Norm Lewis already did it, dude.
Most people say he didn't do all that well, but I think he's at a different place in his career now and would do better if he played the role again.
I would LOVE Hunter FOster as the Balladeer.

Why wouldn't Foster do the Balladeer, if he were presented with the opportunity? He typically does off-beat/quirky shows like Assassins.

"Bernadette Peters would be good as Mrs. Lovett...but she'd never do it. "
Um, I think she would. I think she would be terrible, but I still think she would do it if given the chance.

Jason Alexander would be good as Fiorello...but he'd never do it.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

I'd rather see Danny Burstein as Nathan Detroit.

Millie, I have been saying that for years! To compliment him:
Kelsey Grammar would be good as Lawrence in DRS, but he'd never do it.
Also Tony Vincent would be good as Freddie in Chess, But he'd never do it (would he?)

I was also thinking Kerry Butler as Glinda in Wicked.
What was really funny about Wicked though is that Alli Mauzey playing Glinda reminded me of Jessica Capshaw's character, Arizona, on Grey's Anatomy. My theory is based on looks, personality, and voice.

PRFRMR20-- It was Sweeney Todd. He played it at the Signature Theatre a stone's throw away from me... and I'm still mad at my self for not seeing it.
Not gonna lie, Sondheim_Geek... I think Patti LuPone would be a fantastic Ursula. But there is no way she'd do that... ever.
I think Terrence Mann would be brilliant as the Judge in Sweeney Todd... and he'd probably agree to play the role, but I doubt he'd be hired to play it.

I've said this forever but...
Mark Jacoby as Javert. I don't think it would be phenominal or anything, I just always picture it. Not that he wouldn't do it now, he's just obviously too old.

Patti LuPone would be good as Mme Threnardier...but I hear it was offered and she turned it down.
Miss Patti would also be good as Mme Morrible...but she'd never do that, either.
Hadley Fraser as Giorgio...actually, he might if it were offered.
Audra McDonald would be great as Queen Aggravain if OUAM were revived...but I doubt she'd do it.

Patti would be fierce Velma Von Tussel in hairspray, but probably won't do it.
Nick Adams would be an ideal Emcee in cabaret, and he might actually do it.
Christine Ebersole would make a wonderful Mrs. Lovett, seriously.. has she not played that role yet????
