How does a cast of 7 plus 5 u/s have this many people out?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I'd have to imagine she was tested prior to the matinee and came up negative. So this is likely either 1.) she's sick or 2.) she didn't feel like doing the concert version again tonight.

Sorry, but you don't just take a night off when your show is barely able to keep going based on illness/COVID when you'll have every night off after January 15."
Are you her boss? Her producer? She could’ve had this night off planned a while ago and would’ve already been scheduled off regardless of current circumstances. Or maybe she is trying to preserve her voice so she can get through the rest of the run - especially since they have two shows tomorrow.

This question will be more relevant if they cancel their shows tomorrow. Today's performers don't seem to know what "suck it up" is.

I had a ticket for tonight. When it was announced it was also going to be the "concert version" I decided not to go. I paid for Broadway show, not a concert. Call me snobby I guess, but that was my choice based on what I spent. And while the thought of seeing Michael R. Jackson do Usher sounded cool, it wasn't enough of a reason to get me to see it. I heard him do some of the songs on the Tiny Desk and I didn't love his voice (incredible writer!) but I just didn't wanna sit through them singing the songs. So I got a refund. I don't know what has been going on at this show for months with covers and swings and no coverage and cancelling, but it's kind of ridiculous.
The constant call-outs from this cast and their u/s is something I haven't seen since the 2009 WSS. The tea will likely come out after closing night. It's unreal.

A quote from a redditor on a thread about the concert performance: “I saw the 8:00. I don’t think it was my imagination, but I felt tension on stage. The thoughts were exchanging looks through out”
Hunter: Your teeth need whitening./ Heidi: You sound weird./ Jeff: You taste funny.

I think Jaquel's health issues (which have been extensive but provide a very reasonable reason to miss shows) have obfuscated the fact that the whole cast for this show has had a pretty terrible attendance record.

My god
I love Broadway so much
If someone is sick, trust them. There are so many awful examples of people saying they are sick and the crowd not believing them.
I refuse to put examples here. You all know better.
This is a beautiful show. Life is more precious. Come on. After everything we have all been through/and Covid. Can't we be kind?
We can still debate box office. We can still be catty about theatre. But please, take sickness seriously."
This.
I’ve gotten to know many of the cast over the last year or so and they are working their darndest under bad producing, illness, infighting, and lack of understudies. They absolutely hate having any performance being cancelled, but life happens. And for a bunch of you keyboard warriors to turn around and say that someone of them may not or won’t be able to work on Broadway again is absolutely twisted when many of the performers in this show have given 5, 10, or even 15 years for this to come to fruition is absolutely ATROCIOUS even by this boards standards.
Just last year, we were lauding the playwright of THOUGHTS OF A COLORED MAN for stepping in when the cast was struck with COVID, and now in a one year period, we are dumping on one of the most important shows of recent time for having to do the same so they can still give people a show and having it go on.
SHAME. ON. YOU. ALL.

Or, and just hear me out on this, she’s sick.

This is actually happening, you know: “A new most transmissible-yet COVID variant has established dominance in the New York area, fueling rising infection rates across the five boroughs…”
And also, people get sick with all sorts of things that aren’t COVID that can shut you down for a day, a week, etc. These actors are just trying to get through their jobs in once piece; how hurtful to assume it’s simply because they don’t want to show up.
If you as a producer can't offer the show that audiences have paid hundreds to see (not to mention those who travel to the city paying travel, hotel, meals...)-- then shut it down and refund those hundreds. Classic bait and switch...

Agreed. People are taking this COVID excuse at face value. Something is obviously going on behind the scenes. The producers have done a poor job running this show. It’s pretty easy to take advantage of the handwringing about illness to cover their butts.
Can't just throw the COVID label on this show as its excuse when they've had issues with call-outs and cancellations since the Tony Awards. Only 2 actors are out with COVID, Spivey is pulled from the show by his doctor, another is on vacation, Edwin Bates' status was never revealed nor is L Morgan Lee's.

She's missed well about a majority of performances at this point--- look how often her U/S Zachary is on as any indication...
There are like 3 other people called Voter on here, FYI.
