Webber was reportedly unhappy with the New York Post review and blamed the cast.

Not sure if it has been discussed but they have started to change the branding of the show in public advertisements such as on busses and trains, so it looks more like the below. More visually appealing I admit but also boring and less quirky.
Interesting to see Carrie is in conflict with ALW. At this point given his history I can’t say this is a shocking development. That said, as I have expressed in the past I hope they can find a replacement who has more of the interesting timbre of some of the Broadway ALW divas such as Betty Buckley or Patti LuPone or Bernadette Peters. Carrie almost sounds too good and it takes a little edge out of the character for me.

I feel like the physical production for this show is so ho-hum. The only wow moment won't happen over here, so I hope they rethink the show and give us something that feels substantial."
Carrie is a big name in London and would definitely sell on Broadway. Performing in NYC has been a dream of hers and I think she would take the offer if it's given to her. I was unaware of the conflict between the cast and Webber. I feel that if they want the show to do well they would bring Carrie over. Will there be a battle with AEA to get her over here? Probably. Just wish AEA would be accepting of talent when they see it no matter what country they're from.
Carrie will sell a few tickets for obsessive theatre fans in my opinion but not at the scale of a true 'name' at all, of which there are only a handful of Broadway stars that can actually do that.
Don't mind the new logo, but think the shoe thing makes it a little harder to read. So I guess it's not great.
I think Barrett Weed would be a stellar Cinderella and had some grit to the part. But I know she's had a rocky past as well.

She’s very talented, no denying, but she would not “definitely sell”

AEA is so not an issue LOL
Webber, otoh, ...
There is no reason to waste the money to bring a non-star performer over for a musical like this. Housing alone is an extra $2K a week at minimum, plus airfare, per diem, Visa hassles, etc. on top of a lead-role salary. Sometimes the gimmick pays off –– but it requires a Cynthia Erivo-level talent, or "see the whole London cast" like The History Boys or The Ferryman or Ivo's View From the Bridge. This CINDERELLA feels like another Rosalie Craig situation, especially with the recent announcement of her concert tour.
This sounds like nickel-and-diming, but the costs can add up quickly.
And remember, even with Oscar- and Tony-winning collaborators, there is only one star of this CINDERELLA, and he gives himself the possessory credit.
Let it go.
Given the speculation about the New York Post review getting under Lloyd Webber‘s skin, and the subsequent changes and trimming of the show as suggested by the critic, I wonder if it will also open on Broadway with new scenery and costume designs which were also criticized in that review.
If any incoming fairy tale show needed further developed scenic and costume designs/budgets, Cinderella looks fine compared to Once Upon A One More Time. I think shows like these need to have lavish practical sets worth of the royal environments they take place in. OUAOMT looks like it was very minimal and Cinderella looks a lot more grandiose and lavish in comparison.
Besides one supporting actress nomination, the show was just completely shut out of the Olivier award nominations. I’m guessing ALW is breaking everything around him right now.

Yeah… it won’t stop a Broadway transfer though.

It will, however, take away an argument for Equity to allow the cast (other than perhaps the nominee) to come over to the US.
Given everything happen with Carrie now, I’m sure it’s not even an option for her to come.
Wow... I was expecting at least a few more nods for this.
A definite oof for ALW. Only one true score (music/lyrics) was nominated. Everything else was merely orchestrations.

If Andrew Lloyd Webber is producing it he can cast whoever he wants. I don't imagine anyone else putting a whole lot of money into this show because it's certainly going to be a flop! Unless the book is completely rewritten and they get a better director!
The music is okay but the production as a whole is just a boring mess when compared to Frozen and Moulin Rouge.
Def. an ouch that it didn't get nominated since most of the shows nominated there's only one original score.
Oh, liked “Cinderella” much more than “Frozen”.
OMG! For Carrie to not even be nominated, that's a shocker! Definitely gonna be more difficult if not impossible for producers to bring this show to Broadway. Makes me more hopeful that the revival of Cabaret will come to Broadway!

I liked the score of Cinderella better than Frozen (I would have nominated it over the score of Back to the Future), but I can't get over how mediocre the book is! By the writer of Promising Young Female? (!) Among its many failures, this "revisionist" "feminist" Cinderella doesn't even take part in her own happy ending. It happens completely irrespective of her choices; an accident of fate.
Having not seen the show –– is this the type of thing that might be received better in the UK (with its panto traditions and whatnot) than in NYC?
ALW's main problem is that he wants to be in such control that he won't hire a real director. Laurence Connor will do what Andrew wants. Even with a very esteemed bookwriter, this is Andrew's show, and I think that hurts things because he is NOT a dramatist, he is a composer...even if ALW feels otherwise. There has to be a system of checks and balances in the collaboration.

Had ALW directly ripped off Disney’s Cinderella I’m sure there would be issues, but he doesn’t. As long as it’s inspired from Grimm Brothers Cinderella, there isn’t really an issue."
To be totally pedantic, it’s actually the Charles Perrault version of Cinderella that most modern adaptations adhere to. That’s the one with a Fairy Godmother and a glass slipper, rather than a dead mother in a tree and a gold slipper
