Looks like Telecharge has once again jumped the gun! Not sure of the dates, but looks like there is now a page for Appropriate with the venue being the Belasco. So should probably be getting an update soon!

This has, in a way, been the worst kept secret on Broadway. It was supposed to be announced two weeks ago, but I think they wanted to let HOW TO DANCE IN OHIO keep their dignity and get through their closing first.

That's not how things work. It's standard practice that once a show announces closing, the next tenant announces (if it's ready).

I've said it here many, many times, but I'll say it again now: there are no rules. Sometimes, as in this case, dignity, and grace, still upstage "the standard practice."

How long can we expect the current cast (Paulson, Fanning, et al) to continue? Are they committed to performing until March 3…or beyond?

Hogan is 100% correct.
So I wonder if we are still going to get the really obnoxious terrorist pricing ($200 - $300 per ticket in most cases and over $300 in many cases) that 2nd Stage has in place for this after it transfers.

Everyone but Ellie Fanning is apparently transferring as she has a film commitment
Such a surprise hit this season. I wonder how long it plans to run at the Belasco?
Considering Sarah Paulson is usually a busy woman, I can’t imagine this would go past the Tonys. Early July at the latest.

Aw. I thought Fanning was a surprising highlight of the show when I saw it.
I said it should transfer in the original thread and some posters jumped all over me inferring I did not know what I was talking about.

I loved Appropriate and had luck and privilege to see it in previews for just $68 all thanks to the early discount code I saw on this board. However, I'm worried it will have the same fate as the return of Take Me Out and the Broadway run of Sidney Brustein. Both plays were immensely successful due to the generated hype, hot cast, scarce tickets. Once in much bigger Broadway houses, the demand to see both plays completely fizzled out. Appropriate is a fantastic play, but it's not exactly a safe crowd pleaser. I don't know, maybe I'm completely wrong...

You're not wrong, it's a valid concern to have and I think depends on how quickly they can move it across town. If there's only like a 2-week gap between performances and if they do a big advertising blitz, that helps with buzz.
I also don't know how much Elle Fanning (who people here say isn't continuing) is contributing to those ticket sales.

Take Me Out waited too long to transfer. Had it done the transfer immediately after the 2ST run, they would have still had substantial heat on it. It was truly a bullet train at the end of its original run.
I would bet Paulson is the main $$ draw here more so than Elle whom they could replace with a similarly famous person and not take a hit.
Appropriate, I think, has the advantage of being the obvious frontrunner for Best Play and will clean up in terms of nominations elsewhere.

Unfortunately, word is that the committee has determined it a revival. But that won't keep it from racking up acting and design noms.
Hm, interesting. The committee would do well to really codify the standards for what determines if these recent works are are revivals (see also, Here Lies Love, Mary Jane, etc). The "classics rule" doesn't cut it for works that have been around for a decade or so but without a Broadway production.

Yeah the classics rule just feels like it's arbitrary to the whims of whoever is on the rules committee. Unless a show is produced widely after an off-Broadway run, in what world can you call something a classic? It makes no sense at all.
The issue is what constitutes as being licensed "widely." Appropriate has had 20+ non-replica licensed productions over the past decade. Compared to the NY premiere at Signature this has a different director, cast, physical production, and producer. That is almost the same as what happened to Assassins between 1991 (Playwrights Horizons premiere) and 2004 (Broadway revival).
Blackbird had a similar gap and licensing activity between its MTC production and Broadway production, the same director and 1/2 of the same cast, and it was considered a revival (though I don't know if Rudin had any hopes for it being considered Original).
Harmony and HLL are similarly old, but they were never licensed so they're considered "new."

I tried both the Telecharge site and the 2nd Stage site. Neither has tix for the extension on sale yet.

Yes, that's because this thread was started when they caught the Telecharge page testing that's no longer up. This is how Parade was confirmed before official announcement went out too. Have to wonder how producers feel about Telecharge constantly spoiling announcements like this. Though I think TicketMaster has too, so what can you do?
Anticipate an announcement next week.
Because it isn’t even announced yet lol
Does anyone know who is producing / managing? When TMO transferred, Barry & Fran Weissler were leading but with general management by RCI.
