i hope everyone is ok...sending out good thoughts
Wow..he was not even hurt during a flying sequence....seriously? A wire that is supposed to keep them from literally running off the edge of the stage fails? that is kinda bad news for the other wires.
I hope it wasn't Baileyboo who was injured...
Then he wouldn't be able to make your date
Rob just posted that.
"The cable that snapped is what stops him from going over the edge, and that is what failed. "
That seems like a relatively 'simple' safety measure, at least compared to the actual flying sequences.
If this show closes because of 4 accidents it will be a sad day for performers and artists everywhere.
I hope they can work everything out and can pull through to show that Broadway shows can be non-traditional and edgy and can fly high... even though it's WAY outside of the box, it proves that people are capable of a lot.

But a good day for people who like to walk
So I'm gathering from this information that Damiano was supposed to fall (and presumably there was something safe for her to land on below), and Spiderman fell behind her into the same area. So am I being too optimistic in thinking that perhaps he at worst fell on a safe area in the wrong way?
...Or are others gathering something else from this?

While leaving the theatre I overheard someone say that they were in the front row and the girl next to them was whipped in the face by the wire. I don't know if this is true, just what I heard. I didn't even notice the wire snap from where I was sitting but I could tell the fall looked very off.
I've hardly been an apologist for this show, and I feel like referring to the show's "high profile" sounds victimy - like they've been unfairly subjected to attention when they have in fact been Broadway's most expensive attention whores to date - but I really do feel like this outrage over injuries is exaggerated. They happen in theater more than any other industry, and other Broadway shows have wracked up more (and more serious) injuries prior to opening than this one... so far. I love the drama, but let's keep it in perspective.

This doesn't mean it needs to close, but I think it does need to be shut down for a while while they work out these problems. I'm sure that's not in the budget though.

Eech...not good if this is true.
i think even if this show closes tomorrow, it has already encouraged out-of-the-box-thinking. and perhaps the importance of control. no matter what, it has made a mark on theatre. just not quite sure whether or not its a good one. I wish the show the best of luck....i think they may need it.
Hope the actor makes a swift recovery.

Thank you Jordan and Eris for a bit of humor in this thread, I really did almost have water go through my nose when these two responses popped up in my inbox.

Now you don't have to buy one of those pedi pots
Well if the EMT's and ambulance stayed as long as reports are saying...the chances of him being severely hurt are slim...if it was life-threatening, they would have been in and out in a heartbeat...so in that sense we can breathe easier since he will most likely walk away from this without life altering injuries.
Any news on cancelled performances?

Oh, and I'm pretty sure it was Chris T. who got hurt. Don't have my playbill so don't remember his full name but based on the headshots thats who I believe came out on the stretcher.
...or even a neti pot!
Don't be such a know-it-all :-P
So that would be Christopher Tierney who also plays Kraven the Hunter
I certainly hope that no one got hit in the face. With a show that is this revolutionary and technologically advanced, there are bound to be complications and accidents. There is just a point when enough is enough. I just hope this show can get it together. It's a good thing they have all of January to get some things worked out!

I don't think I could ever bring myself to use that. I've seen actors doing it and the thought of it just creeps me out. I hate when I get water up my nose while swimming, I couldn't imagine intentionally pouring it in.
