I don't post here often. I'm an actor currently working on my 5th Broadway show. I usually come here to see what people are chatting about. But, people on these boards are sooooooooo obsessed with Hamilton, it's entertaining. A close friend of mine just got the offer to take over for Leslie. They'll announce him next week. SO, to make this fun and interesting for you Hamilton fans, how about I drop you several clues over the next couple of days and see if you can figure it out. They won't be easy, but you diehard Broadway fans just might figure it out.
Now, I know you guys like to attack the hell out of someone when they claim to know something - you call them liars, you demand that they name their sources, you curse them out..... Well, let's just say that once the announcement drops, you'll check back on this thread, look at the clues and say, "CRAP, he wasn't blowing smoke up my butt!"
And if you guess right, AND if you guess before the announcement drops - you get to be the cool kid who knew before eeeeeeeeverybody else and show off to your friends.
So....... clue #1: The New Burr is currently on Broadway, but he's not in Hamilton.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

OMG either would be awesome, but Joshua Henry is just incredible. Saw him in Scottsboro Boys, Violet, and Shuffle Along. I thought Leslie was good, but I think Joshua would take it even higher.
Funny, if they pick the right performers, Hamilton could be even better. The one player who I think is/was the sole of that production is Renee as Angelica.

This
i wouldn't say any of the shuffle along guys since they will probably finish out that run.

I've never really understood the purpose of these kinds of posts. I mean, good for you, I guess? But we'll all find out eventually, since Leslie leaves in a week, so who really cares that you know a few days earlier?
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
Lol we'll probably find out in like a week but did he really JUST get the role? He has to master the role in 12 days while he's still doing a Broadway show?
Someone that can learn the role and replace a lead in less than two weeks? My vote is for Jeremy Kushnier.
But actually, Joshua Henry has done In The Heights, so that's another tie to the creative team here. It wouldn't shock me if they're going to ask Sidney James Harcourt or one of the other understudies to play Burr for a few weeks, and then have Joshua Henry take over after Shuffle Along closes.
I know they looked at Sidney to play Burr in Chicago a while ago, so I don't think it's unlikely they'd ask him to do a short run on Broadway before the Chicago production starts rehearsals if they want him for that production.
Maybe an understudy will go on for a few weeks until the new actor is prepared. Seems pretty odd if they really did wait this long to cast the replacement.
