Rudin would never let anyone out of a contract to go into Hamilton, but the timing is perfect. They'll fill in for a month. I think we did it, I think we did it fast and I think the OP is probably in trouble.
How would the OP be in trouble? Odds are dozens of people know the info. The whole SA company probably knows. It could be anyone of them and the OP could say "close friend" to avoid detection and let someone else be suspected.
In all seriousness....if this friend knows that LaneBryant is posting this, then fine. People around this friend may know but he may not want it out in the Public. Theatre people know a LOT that they do not discuss publicly or at least until they are allowed to.
With respect to the lack of rehearsal time, I was surprised at the 54 below Tony party when Christopher Sieber and Lesli Margherita told a story and said they only have 4-5 days of rehearsal before they're put in when they get hired as a replacement. (They were telling the story in the context of the Brits doing things differently because when they joined Matilda they had like a month and felt like they were getting paid for doing nothing.). Anyway, I would have thought the new Burr would have needed more than that, but I would've thought ANYONE would have needed more than that, which is why it surprised me.
If it is Joshua Henry, I wouldn't be surprised if they are beginning rehearsal with him now, for him to begin when Shuffle Along closes, having Sydney fill in temporarily (maybe as a practice for Chicago?).
Something must have happened then because an usher told me last week they were late getting people into the Wednesday matinee because they were rehearsing the new Burr.
On one hand, I would love it to be Josh Henry....but on the other (selfish) hand, since I'm seeing this again on 7/20, I would be very sad to NOT see him, if he doesn't take over util after the run of Shuffle Along closes.
Time will tell.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The usher may have been misinformed. It's extremely unlikely/practically unheard of that a rehearsal would take place during presets of a performance. A separate call would be required. Typically a replacement cast member doesn't actually step foot on the stage until his/her put-in (which is a day or two before his/her first preformance) unless there is an usual technical element to deal with. Still, that would be a separate rehearsal call.
