I did not say she was bad or horrible things n Hello Dolly. Just did not think she was memorable other than the mugging which I thought was over the top. Her replacement was fine , the people inwas with didn’t even notice her so that says a lot. I was basically saying that her performance was nothing Bette had to concern herself with .
Encores! should totally do The Act. The score's only half bad haha. Would be interesting if they were able to get Celine or Gaga or one of the Vegas residency artists to play Michelle. Could be a very meta moment.

Beanie has been in several very popular, critically acclaimed films. Headlined a Ryan Murphy series opposite of Sarah Paulson. And also has a well-reviewed Broadway turn under her belt in one of the biggest hit musicals to come to Broadway in the last decade? Yeah. I'd say it would be completely understandable why she'd get an offer without an audition.
For the record, she has said she auditioned, but keep dying on this hill, bud.

Cool. Not dying on any hill. I literally don't really care. Just having a discussion. She's proven she doesn't have the stamina for 8x a week as a lead performer, nor does she have the vocal chops for the role or the acting requirements given all the reviews. Patti Lupone and Hugh Jackman have actually proven they have what it takes before hand. A character part in a hit show doesn't mean you can handle 8x a week as a lead.
American Crime Story: Impeachment was a bomb. None of the episodes got even a million viewers, compared with season highs of 2.22 million for Assassination and 5.12 million for OJ.

Also, Minnie Faye sings in ensemble/group numbers - she has zero solo spots or any BIG 11 o’clock numbers. She’s a featured role that has an extensive amount of time off-stage. She comes on, does her bit, exits and shows up again later. She’s not onstage for the majority of the HELLO, DOLLY! It’s been said, even that level of 8 performances of week was taxing on her.
Not sure what your point is...but RippedMan seems to have an issue when actors (with film, TV and Broadway credits) don't have to audition for roles.
So, in their words, pop off sis. :)"
I actually don't. Billy Crystal looks excellent in Mr. Saturday Night, and I'm sure he didn't audition. But these performers have proven their merit. She has not. That's the issue.
As much as I love a conspiracy theory, I do not think Beanie or production is lying about her contracting COVID. She's already been out for unscheduled absences. I'll give the team the benefit of the doubt on that because the alternative is just gross.

She's shown she doesn't have the stamina for this role, maybe. But the Funny Girl score is nearly all Fanny, and tailored to the strength of a uniquely powerful voice. That Beanie can't fill that demand, and surely isn't right for Eva Peron or Mama Rose, doesn't mean she can't lead an evening's entertainment. When she's age appropriate, she'll probably make a great Dolly. She might make a good Miss Mona now. She's too old for Tracy Turnblad, but a younger her would have probably been terrific in the role. I think there are a lot of parts she can play, even leading roles. But she needs something not as vocally demanding as Fanny Brice.

Are you dim, or do you just enjoy making up bogus justifications for no reason?
1) Lea was part of a group performance with the cast of SPRING AWAKENING.
2) Beanie had COVID."
As far as I am aware, the show was only nominated for one Tony award (for featured actor) so I don’t think she would be there anyway. I looked online and couldn’t find any pictures of the cast attending except Jared Grimes. & You’re right Lea is part of the spring awakening cast, but they also had her come out and speak before the performance. Which was definitely a choice.
Yes, please! Lea as Fanny would likely bring me back to Broadway from the West Coast for the first time since pre-pandemic. She is the perfect star to play a star.
